A member on this board has a set of 755's, with rifle 7.0's...and honestly, what are the 7.0?

my swing is pretty average...around 85-90 MPH
hit a 5 iron, on average, around 170.

I am just wondering what the 7.0 is..the royal precision website didnt tell me much...

7.0??? on 755s? A flex index of 5.5 is equivalent to s300 in DG shafts, and 6.5 is equivalent to x100. i would imagine that 7.0 flex could support a bridge without bending. Curious to see someone put those on 755, generally considered to be a mid-handicapper set. I know they are used on tour and they are awesome clubs, but I just wouldn't expect 7.0 shafts on these wrenches.

The rifle shafts are more for high spin/high torque players as well as high swing speeds.

One word...Rebar!!

Here is an idea for you, Nippon NS Pro 950. Steel shaft, 97-100 grams each depending on length. (A Dynamic Gold runs 125-130 grams each). Great piece of tech for your swing!

Also, this shaft does not baloon the flight. Mid ball flight for most players.

Good Luck!

7.0 is the stiffest they make. The 6.5 which is what I play is equal to a DG X100. I have a 90-95 mph 6 iron swing speed and this shaft is more then enough for me. I would not recommend the 7.0 shaft. Also everyone says the Rifles play a little stiffer then the DG usually. I do LOVE my project X 6.5 though, couldn't be happier. If you play a DG s300 then look at the Rifle 5.5, MAX 6.0.

Not true, most Rifle shafts are low spin. Although the amount of spin will also depend on the players swing, the clubhead and the ball used. In general torque is a non entity for steel shafts. Not that it doesn't exist just not a main concern as like graphite shafts.

They also come in a wide array of flexes (4.5-7.0) to suit people with slow or fast swing speeds.

Sure if installed improperly. For example if I take a Rifle 5.5 and install it into a Callaway X-20 and Mizuno MP iron. Without following proper installation instructions the Callaway iron will play much stiffer than the Mizuno. To find a Certified Rifle Center in your area,

Here's an idea, get fitted for your equipment. How can you effectively recommend what is good for a person without seeing their swing and evaluate their current equipment?

Also, this shaft does not baloon the flight. Mid ball flight for most players.

As I mentioned above, spin will vary per player, clubhead, ball, etc.

...Also everyone says the Rifles play a little stiffer then the DG usually...

A lot of this is from the installation, which I briefly mention above. Also the Rifle shaft will transmit for vibration (feel) compared to another shaft that has steps.

7.0 are considered Tour stiff specs . these were fabricated for PGA Tour players in mind . The way they swing and the power generated when they muscle shots are in tune with these shafts . These are mostly installed in long irons and mid get the 6.0 and so on . i can hardly imagine a 7.0 installed on a pitching wedge or gap wedge . that would be an over kill .
