Ping G irons

I am not sure if this is covered yet, and I couldn't find a thread searching for it.

It looks like a mesh of the Ping G30/Gmax iron and the Ping i-Series.

I thought they looked pretty decent. The stronger lofts and higher ball flight rating put them out of what I would consider for myself, as I'm very happy with the I series I bought last year. I don't expect to be looking at buying irons again until/unless these break. If I were looking to get some irons for my dad I may look a these over the G-max irons though.

I played mine for the first time Saturday.  Hit them much better, straighter and much more consistent than my old G25's.  Which helps my confidence level as well.

Got to try these at Orlando in January. Had a good experience.

The big test came with shots out of 2" deep rough, about 175 yards out from target green. I took a 5i and put two on the fringe and one 10' from the flag. All came out nice and high.

Fairly good-sized head, but doesn't didn't hang up in rough. The soles are fairly wide, but have trailing edge relief (metal recedes on back half of sole).

My set is 6-9, PW, UW and I was planning on getting a hybrid.  But since I find these so easy to hit should I get a 5i instead?

Can you try a side-by-side with a 5i vs. 5H?

One thing to consider: a G 5i would match better with your iron set than G25 or G30 5H.

Same Ping G series irons here.  I chose to go with a 5 hybrid, but not a Ping.  Just easier to hit consistently and better results than a 5-iron for me.  The Ping 6-iron goes 150-160 and the 5 hybrid 170 range.  Obviously, not a long hitter here, but going for consistent results whenever possible.
