"Al's mystery". Why are these letters engraved on my club??

Pretty simple issue really.  I bought these cobra ssi irons and they were missing a pw.   Bummer 3-9 only  

 

so I went to buy a replacement pw and they were all so expensive   Its the one everyone loses so i guess that's the way it goes  ???

So I finally found one cheap for $15 because he listed it as ss1 instead of ssi  ha ha make sure you list those clubs right!!!!!

 

So anyway  it's got this weird engraving on it  two red letters "a l"

 

Did the guy seriously out his name on it it do the manufacturer do it for some special reason?   Air loft?   All loose?  Air ledge?  All Lob? 

 

 

Lol got no clue anyone seen this before?

Probably just the guy's name or initials. Not likely to be a big mystery.

I had a set of MacGregor JNP irons that had my initials stamped on them, that looks like a similar thing.
