In another thread regarding a celebrity Tournament, I learned that Lee Elder was going to be there. This prompted me to review his record. I remember the 5 hole sudden death play off where he was finally beaten by Jack Nicklaus, and another play off when he bested Lee Trevino. Elder was not exactly a super star, but did win several times on the PGA and Senior s with at least one major and got to play The Masters the following year.  Another interesting factoid is where he was invited by Gary Player to be in a tournament in South Africa. This was during Apartheid, and the government lifted the segregation sanctions for the event for not only the players, but for the spectators.

wrong again!  Lee Elder was a "Past" celeb. Hell, for all I know, he is no longer living! Oh, well, at least his record is accurate.

Yes, and I feel a bit foolish at  being taken in by them! At least I found a cheap place to golf in Palm Springs that gets good reviews NOT inspired by Warrior even the course seems to be owned by them.

Lee Elder was at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. I had an interview elsewhere, and unfortunately missed him when he visited the Medicus/KickX booth.
