This is the first book I've read which attempts to describe in great detail what's REALLY going on when we "release" the club.  And for the two fundamental styles of swings: e.g. Mickelson vs Garcia  (two- vs one-plane swings).  Plenty of detail for you analytics.  Also some  hints for the "feel" crowd.  My main reason in bringing this book up is for really knowledgeable golfers to mercilessly and objectively comment after evaluating the accuracy of what's printed.  Please, no bashing.  Pretend Ben Hogan is reading your words and you don't really want Ben to think you're a neanderthal.

Not criticizing golf books of yore, but it is hard not to appreciate the greater detail in some newer books, like those of Jim Hardy and Laws of the Golf Swing (Adams et al) book. Like everything else in the world, golf instruction only get more interesting and better. Hardy does not re-hash old bromides.  He is thinking hard.  Thanks Mr. Hardy.

For me, his single plane release model with bowed right wrist in followthrough is an alternate golf universe. Hey,  if you have not torn up the golf world with your golf game (I have not), why not have fun trying it out?

2 questions for any accomplished single plane Hardy-philes out there:

One, I have noticed when I try use right arm/ wrist more in downswing ball does indeed go straighter-- but I tend to hit it fatter. Makes sense.  Bottom of a  right arm held club bottoms out well posterior to that of a left arm held club.  Since thin is usually better than fat on scores, not good!  Seems hard to overcome even with more posterior ball position. Anyone out there had to work out this problem and have recommendations?

Also, I have chronic right rotator cuff condition and it flares up more with right-dominant single plane swinging.  Curious if others have same issue.

Thanks.

Just read the plane truth for golfers. In this book it states that the release happens automatically with the one plane swing with "some" lead arm rotation. I have been watching videos on the LOP RIT release and now I'm confused. Do I abandon the slight lead arm rotation that plane truth prescribes and just focus on an RIT release or Am I supposed to blend them somehow?
