I can't decide which I prefer. I have a Hogan Edge 5 iron as well as a Macgregor Tourney VIP V-Foil (1025C) 5 iron.  The Hogan has a  Legend Graphite Shaft Regular flex, the MT has a Graphite Designs Stiff. One would think the Hogan would suit my swing speed better, but the MT feels better and a little more consistent. So, I did some research. Their designs are very close but the Edge has a loft of 26 and the MT 27. The MT is also 1/4 inch longer. All things being equal, I think the differences cancel each other out.  Heck, with it....going for some Wishon 565's when I am able.

Seems like you answered your own question. Go with the one that feels better and more consistent. Are you over analyzing this a bit?

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

1025C  refers to cavity back. Jack Nicklaus co-designed them. The muscle backs are 1025M

ahhh got ya....  if you are more consistent with the MT's i'd stick with them....  no point in playing a club that you are unsure of
