Rained in DFW yesterday, and my son and I raced out to play 5 holes in an hour before dark - it was cart path only. Next time I bring the SM 2.5 bag to carry. I'd like to report how I did in the wet but the course was draining well. I did grip down a tad, and attempted not to rush from the top, allowing me to get weight forward. Worked on everything but the driver...lol. I still rush the driver... working on it.

Well the course was a little wet yesterday, not a pond like when I started this thread, and I tried out some of the ideas you guys had and I was hitting the ball much better in the wet conditions.

I think clubbing up, choking down and putting the ball a little forward was what I needed to do in this situation.

Thanks to everyone who contributed!

Didnt want to start a new thread, this is close. What is the best way keep your grooves fresh and toothy ? My new clubs are great right now but.....I wore my last set out with range balls, i learned that lesson. Is there a way to give your clubs a tune up?

At the range, keep a wet towel and clean the club after each shot, or after a few shots, depending on conditions. Sand on golf balls eventually wears down your face. You need a break anyway between shots to reflect. Use your timeout wisely. Use a wet towel.

The above is the easiest long term way to keep your face and grooves refreshed. Good luck.
