Used to be called Singing Hills, now part of the Sycuan Resort. There are a couple of different loops, Willow Glen, and Pine Glen. Reasonable rates, pristine condition. I also drove by the nearby Cottonwood course. It is looking a bit ragged.  In the film "Tin Cup" they talked about playing Cottonwood, but I don't know if it was this or another *. Both locations are a little further away from home base, but I will probably play there the next time I drop off the S.O. at the casino.

* just for the Halibut, I googled Cottonwood in Texas and found Cottonwood Creek, Waco and Cottonwood Valley

My wife and I used to go to Sycuan quite often. 3 or 4 times a year for several years. Not sure why we stopped going. She'd do the casino bus thing, and I would do the non stop golf thing. 36 holes a day was the norm. As I recall, they even had a par 3 course too.  We'd stay right there, on their property, in one of their apartments. I even took a few group lessons from some lady golf pro who seemed to know how to teach this game. The lessons were part of the "package" deal.  For a break, we'd take a taxie to some pier on the ocean, and hit all the tourist traps in that area. We'd be eating lunch on the pier, while the waves were moving the eatery around. Even took in some Padres/Chargers games when they were home and playing.

There is a new casino not far from there in Jamul. Hollywood Casino, nice property, but not well liked by the community, more congestion, more people , more traffic, and all the standard arguments. On opening day, traffic was at a standstill for ten miles as the parking was full and people had to wait until some left. I was in that line for about half hour, then got fed up, made a U-Turn and went to Golden Acorn.

okey dokey...its a plan. Jan 4th, reservations at the Sycuan resort hotel at reduced rates thanks to S.O.'s play. Normally $159, got the room for $49. I will be playing Willow Glen at 10:19, If anyone in the area interested, you could probably get the same time slot, or I could modify mine to yours. I think the slope and rating is something like 70.2/122, Weather states partly cloudy, some sun, high of 68F.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
