Yuck!  place sure does not drain well. Course is closed for now as is the driving range. It should open tomorrow for walking play only. The pitch/chip practice area is a virtual swamp! It should come back fine though, the fairways are lush and green, putting surfaces very well groomed.

Well, we sure don't get rain like this very often.   It is a flat piece of land, it doesn't make sense to build to drain adequately for the once every few years storm events.  But yes, it seems that it wouldn't drain well (I've only played when it has been dry.

They started with a plain flat piece of land with little to no features.  They moved some dirt around and added a few ponds but still it's a pretty plain course.  It has some distance and it is a bargain.  I give it a thumbs up primarily for value.  I also like the distance between fairways, they could have put two courses on that piece of land.  I'm glad they didn't, it's pretty unlikely you would ever hit anyone on this course.

I've played it for years. Even when the pine trees bordering the fairways were all the same height about 4 to 6 feet. Now towering over twenty. Number 18 used to have two tall palm trees on the left side about 260 yards out. When I was younger, I used to lose a lot of balls in those palms, as if you ever landed in one, you could kiss your ball good bye. They have since cut them down.

The course was originally intended as an emergency runway and possibly still is, but the strip is mostly for helicopters and VTO fixed wing. It is still a challenging course with one of the longest par fives in the county. Looks are deceiving.

Yeah, the course is fairly flat. I think it could do with more irrigation ponds to drain all this much needed rain. Can't wait for the greens to come back healthy and lush.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
