Does your home course give men's ratings to forward tees?

I just noticed on my scorecard from a few days ago that every set of tees (R,W,B) at my home course (Woodley Lakes) have men's ratings. I've been playing from the white tees and scoring in the 90s, but it looks like if I wanted to move up a set of tees, I would be able to do so. I'm wondering if this is very uncommon?

The card still shows the Blue and White tees' distance under the category of "men" and the red tees under "women," although RWB are rated for men and RW are rated for women.

There are 7 home courses around me, all within 6 miles. All of them have 4 sets of tees, except for the par 3 course which has only 2 sets. None of them post a men's related score from the women's tee. There's championship, pro, men's, and women's.

My club has men's ratings for all tees. I shoot very low 100s (usually 100-104), so I suppose I could (and maybe should) move up, but I'd feel less manly

I would've moved up to the red tees if the men's rating was available when I wasn't breaking 100 routinely. Now that even on bad days at that course I post high 90s, I don't feel bad playing from the white tees.

Two of my courses base their tees on handicap, and according to their numbers I should be playing the yellow tees. I feel like after 6 months of playing from the whites I'd be giving myself too much of a break. The yellows take away the long water carries, cut down the angles on doglegs, and generally take some of the more interesting features out of play.

Courses that rate it off handicap do that so you can enjoy your round and they usually have a few forced carries that a high handicap will not be able to carry. Many high handicappers don't have a good short game and that drives the handicap up. If you drive the ball well and the short game is your problem playing back one tee from your handicap should be ok.

    • As a geezer who remembers seeing the original Star Wars in theaters - this sim is pretty kewl.  Fantastic detail!
    • Day 203 (21 Nov 24) - Weekly nine hole round with my good friend.  Played it as a 7 club challenge (7w, 5h, 7i, 9i, GW, LW, putter).  As we were playing up a set of tees, no super loss of distance off the tee.  Had some good looks at birdie, failed to convert.  These sessions with fewer clubs really helps with course management.
    • Tell me about it - shouldn’t have second guessed…
    • My wife is going to drag me to see Wicked.   She is very excited to see it.   We saw the musical while in Chicago and thought it was very good.  I'm not usually a fan of musicals but I'm looking forward to seeing this.   Gladiator 2 does look good.   I'm going to go back and watch the original Gladiator before going to the theater.
    • MSN Glover expressed his dissatisfaction with what he termed as 'cool kid meetings' between Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Tiger Woods and other high-profile golfers. "I think it's terrible," he stated. "And then hiding behind pace of play, I think, challenges our intelligence. They think we're stupid.     "Don't cut fields because it's a pace of play issue. Tell us to play faster, or just say you're trying to appease six guys and make them happy so they don't go somewhere else and play golf." Fitzpatrick joined the conversation on X (formerly Twitter), with the 30-year-old echoing Glover's sentiments regarding the PGA Tour changes. "He's so right," Fitzpatrick posted. "Pathetic that pace of play is spoken about every year and nothing ever gets done."     I agree. Instead of  penalizing  players for  turtle  play they appease the  slow jerks  by  cutting the  fields. They will play even slower  knowing they will NEVER be  penalized.
