As some of you know the Golf Didest Magazine a couple of months ago was touting the Stack and Tilt swing as the wave of the furure. I tried it several times with no success. what I learned is that they did not explain exactly how to do it.

Now there are some things that are basic that must be done before it will work. you must try to establish a balanced position in your setup. In other words you must have your center of gravity established between your feet and between your toes and your heels. And you must have your feet spread apart a sufficient amount.

With this setup --- you then raise your right shoulder about an inch ---or point your tail bone at your right inside heel. This tillts your spine forward slightly and sets up your tilt.

You will usually hit the ball solid --the best ball contact possible. It stops fat shots and thin shots. If your spine is not slanted slightly forward you will have a tendency to hit fat or thin shots in an effort to scoop the ball off the ground.

Of course as with any good advice you must incoporate a good shoulder turn. A good shoulder turn is basic for any shot.

They were talking about stack and tilt and Mike Weir on the golf channel last night. Showed how some people used it way back in the day, and how even Hogan had some similarities with this style. I am going to see if I can find the golf digest article as I haven't read it (my only subscription is to GOLF).
