New Ping irons?

Hi, I'm not that great of a golfer. I have a set of ping isik's. I plan on playing more this summer; and was thinking of purchasing a new set of ping g irons.

Is that a wise move or should I play one more year with my isik's.

Will I notice a big enough difference for the money?

If you're excited about the new Pings, have/saved the money to get them, I recommend you actually get fitted, then buy them. Come on! What's better than a shiny new set of irons standing attention in your bag!? Now, will you see a big difference? Maybe. But if you're really wanting that then just changing equipment isn't the answer, unless your current set is off the shelf and you have no idea what specs are best for you. Invest in lessons if you have to decide between new clubs/lessons. However if you can swing them both then I highly recommend you be sure to be fitted to those new Ping G's. Hope this helps.

I have owned practically all Ping models of irons, from G Max to i Blade. For me, having the right shaft makes more difference than having the right head. Get fitted first.

I got fitted for clubs two years ago, KZG heads, matrix shafts, golf pride grips. Love the clubs...now. they didn't change my game until I changed my game. 

But...I love the sound of "Ping". P...I...N...G...

Great tradition. They will be the next heads

Does getting fitted for irons make a big difference if you are still working on your swing?  I kind of have my swing settled down but not completely, and TBH, the money is not a big consideration for me, but I don't like to just waste money for no payback.

Depends on what level of play you are at and what you are working on. 

A lot of places will comp the fitting if you buy the clubs that day.

      It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…

      I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
