Recently received my new putter, and looked through my copy of LSW for some drills to try to get acquainted with it as soon as possible so I ended up going down to my local course and practiced on the putting green.

I ended up doing the 3/6/9 drill, which I "completed" from one direction extremely quickly so I wrote down my results and went to the Pull Back drill.  When I thought to categorize my misses in the Pull Back drill, most of my misses were short, so after I completed 18 "holes" I went to start the 10% drill for distance and had moderate success before I ran out of time.  I have all of my putts recorded in a spiral notebook to track for future reference, but how would you go about assessing your progress and when would you feel you've significantly improved?

One last question specifically regarding the Pull Back drill: If I miss the first putt from 25', I pull the ball back a putter length and putt again.  If I happen to miss this second putt, do I pull that one back too?  Does it matter?

Thanks!

That's the purpose of keeping score: you can assess whether you've improved by seeing if you're scoring better over time.

Yes. Pull them back so long as you miss them.
