Played the Vineyard today. The greens are the worst I've seen them. Very rough, covered with what looks like "Coot Crap", but I do not recall seeing "Coots" (The feathered variety, not walking retirees). It is not aerated or anything, not sure what caused it. Maybe something wrong with the blades on the mowers used on greens recently. Also lots of bee activity. Be careful out there!  One got me slightly, but I was able to suck out the venom, and it was a glancing sting.  Shot a 90 even though I hit 17 fairways. Could not hit my irons worth a darned.

Dang.  I was just thinking about this course a few days ago.  I seem to recall this is a course you like... I hope its condition gets better.

I  do still like the course, its just the greens are not as pristine as I would like, and it seems to be a very recent thing. We have had a lot of very hot weather which has a lot to do with it. The scuffed appearance of some of the greens is puzzling. I may try to pin down one of the greenskeepers and maybe he/she has some info.

regarding the bee sting(s)....spoke too soon.  Now I gots Popeye arms!   5 teeny punctures, itch like crazy, swollen.  I know I am allergic to inset bites, and used to carry an epi-pen. Hopefully the Benedryl and Cotizone10 will do the trick.
