I'm looking for anyone who may have experienced a similar injury. I'm a right handed golfer and am having an issue with the top of my right hand. It happened about 4 weeks ago when I caught a wedge shot fat off the tee box. The divot was a good piece of sod. Since then I've had pain on the top of my hand whenever I hit down on the ball. It hurts only for a few seconds then fades.

You should visit a doctor.

Sorry, that's kind of the cheap, easy, expected answer… but it's also the only real correct one.

@DAK welcome to the forum.

@iacas has give you some good advice.   Unless you are diagnosed by a professional, it is anyone's guess to the extent of your injury.

i would see a doctor.

im a bit hard headed, and let my body heal naturally. I give it a few weeks and my body was ok. I usually take advil liquid gels and i feel great, but that would just be a bandaid to potentially a bigger problem.

how old are you? what physical condition are you in? what is your height, weight, bmi, etc...?

Hopefully this helps the wrist injury.  Would definitely recommend seeking medical attention locally though!

NECRO THREAD!

I hurt my right wrist the other day taking too big of a divot. I'm going to take a look at that youtube video.

The problem is, I'm actually taking bigger divots the more I shallow out my swing. Every instruction for "taking too big of divots" is to shallow out the swing because they assume you are coming in too steep.

But mine seems to be the opposite, I listened to them, shallowed out the swing more and hurt my wrist more. So I purposely put the club in steeper and got cleaner baby divots. Pretty strange...

I hope it stops soon because my right wrist is taking a beating. Any other tips on making a less deep divot?

    • For someone with a very consistent swing speed and ball strike, upgrades may improve performance. For everyday golfers, probably not. I'm a rather odd player. I usually get best performance from basic pro or tour heads, but with lighter stock shaft from the model's standard driver set up. (Yes, current EXS is an exception.) When I get a full driver fitting, I usually try a couple of modest upgrade  (not super magic) shafts. Most of the time upgrade gives a couple of extra yards, or 10 yards less. Remember this about stock shafts: They are matched to a particular driver model to fit the type of player likely to adopt that model. Also, most OEMs offer a variety of stock shafts in their drivers. Test for which one works best. And, the final decider...
    • Uh, seeing you're having trouble with hit-and-miss performance from inherited clubs... Get Fitted! IF the 910H pair don't work, swap them out. Also, only two degrees separation in loft is not much. You might consider a 4W (much more reliable than a 3W) plus hybrid. This would give more distance separation than two Hs. For hybrid, get one you can hit... Maybe a more benevolent 4H. Quite often I try to brand match my bridge clubs (FWs and Hs), and my irons and wedges... but not always. Whatever works!
