Thanks.  It's funny because I feel like my hips are turning a lot , but it could be just tension.  My biggest struggle is straightening my back leg. If I remember to do that then my hips are usually pretty deep if I don't then they're not.

@iacas Thanks for the drills.  Lots of shots today that were more solid, great distance improvements as well.

That's better. Probably still more "turn" to be had.

Your next step will be to get the elbow to bend less and get it a bit farther off your chest. It still (originally and still now due to the lack of turn) goes "around" too much.

Definitely.  When you refer to elbow which one?

I got it trail elbow.  Yes one of my things I try to do once I get the rotation as discussed is get my arm off my chest by putting a glove under my bicep and letting it drop out.  I also just picked up a training aid that prevents my elbow from going over 90 degrees so baby steps.  Glad I'm doing this now and not a month into the actual season.

I have fought shoulder issues and seem to now have a pull/baby fade going on.  Not a great video, but are these numbers ok or should i try to get in to out.  I've realized this winter my concept of in to out was wrong in that what felt in to out was actually just the face being open to get it right.  The first one was rushed the second one is more typical.  Minor pull or if the numbers line up baby fade back to target.

It helps too if:

  • we can see all of you (and at least most of the clubhead's travel)
  • you trim away the stuff that isn't your swing

From what I could see this topic might benefit you:

Your arm shouldn't work that direction at all. Did you look at the thread I sent you earlier? I'll post it again.

You don't seem to have understood it, though. You don't move your elbow toward your shirt seam like this:

You move it like this:

    • Day 45 (22 Apr 26) - good friend wanted to play the Weds shootout. Glad we did as I had the most consistent round in a while - 38/41 for a 79 (first sub 80 in months): 27 putts, 9 pars (7 were up and down 1 putts), 8 bogies, 1 birdie and 0 dbls or worse!  This is the 1st full round where I’ve not had at least one dbl (or worse) and 0 penalties.  I also came 1 hole from having “no sixes” (bogied the par five 16th).  All the drills came together today for a solid round.
    • Day 568 - 2026-04-22 Created a 33-minute playlist and paused it while I stopped. I mostly did some backswing and a little downswing work with the mirror. This got me most of the way through the playlist, so then I chopped for a good 15 or 20 minutes.
    • Day 244 4-22 Still working on wrist arch and more separation between hips and chest in backswing. Started adding more speed tonight.
