Trump Ferry Point - Worth Playing?

Thinking about driving up to play it. Anyone been on it, and how was it. Was it worth the $

It's a decent golf course and it's pretty cool that it's so close to NYC. The views are amazing. That said, there's quite a lot of the same out there. It's hard to remember what really differentiates the holes. I am glad I played it once, but I wouldn't pay to play it again. Not at the full fee. There are some good green complexes on it and the holes are nicely framed, but the fairways themselves are pretty flat I think. I'm not sure where you're driving from, but if it's from the south, I would hang a right and go play Bethpage Black.

Couldn’t disagree more. People who say the course is repetitive probably aren’t thinking past the look of the dunes and mounds. It is a common look throughout the course but the golf holes have lots of variety. Fairways roll nicely and aren’t flat at all. There are short par 4s and long par 4s. Long par 3s and midrange par 3s. Holes that turn right and holes that turn left. A cape hole over water that is beautifully done. Holes with lots of bunkers and others with less. Holes that play upslope and those that play down. Generally wide fairways and challenging approach shots. Great views, great details that you notice the more you play it. A terrific golf course.
