I've been Playing Golf for: 20 years
My current handicap index or average score is: 80
My typical ball flight is: Average / High
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Push / Fade

My drive is generally pretty consistent, but I've noticed my backswing seems a bit short and my left foot comes off the ground quite often. When I try to lengthen my backswing it feels awkward and trying to keep my left foot planted makes my swing feel very stiff.

Any thoughts on how I can work on those two things? Or any other thoughts on where the swing breaks down?

Thanks!

Check out a few topics here on the 5 Simple Keys® (or 5SK®). It explains a bit of my (and many other people's) thoughts on organizing the swing.

You've built a wide base, presumably for stability, then do all you can to throw out that stability. Your impact position, viewed statically, isn't bad, but you get there in a way that's unlikely to be as finely tuned consistency wise as is needed to play great golf.

I'd look at your setup, and then work on some pivot/Key #1 stuff.

Great feedback iacas!

I never noticed how far off center I am at the top of the swing and at the point of impact.

Is the goal for your head and legs to stay within the lines during the entire swing?

No. Check out some Key #1 topics about a centered pivot, the wall drill, etc.

Sorry in advance for the following dumb question, but I searched this site for "5 Simple Keys" and I clicked on the link in your signature which takes me to http://thegolfevolution.com/, but I can't seem to find any content around Key #1 or a summary of the 5 keys.

Where should I be looking?

Thanks!

You seem to be too far from the ball.

It's a bit funny how your quirky swing starts so poorly and finishes so well !

P6: looks good but hands are a bit high.
