Hi all

i recently picked up some leather headcovers and they look great. I am however worried about my shafts getting worn where they rub on my golf bag. Shafts are expensive and I don’t want to have to replace them because of wear.

Does anyone else have headcovers that don’t cover the shaft and if so, what do you do to protect the shaft? I’m thinking about putting tape on there but I’m not sure if it’s legal and it likely won’t look great unless I can find some clear stuff.

Thanks!

Tape is legal I think. Some clubs already have stickers on them. It won’t change the performance unless you put a ton on there.

Actually I tape my yardages to wedges. It’s legal.

Yes, the long, woven head covers were meant to protect graphite shafts from "bag rash". With the advent of the new "shorty" leather, or leather look, head covers I have to presume that the new bag dividers are covered in material designed to avoid bag rash as well. Since I doubt you get a new bag every year from a company that you sponsor, I would suggest you look to it to decide how to proceed.
