Polyurethane Leather Golf Bags

I've been seeing a lot lately about Polyurethane Leather (PU leather) golf bags. Has anyone used one? I know they're cheaper than real leather, but do they hold up? Seems like they would crack so split quite easy.

I believe my staff bag is fake leather.

It's held up really well. I think synthetics have come a long way over the last few decades.

Yeah they've come a long way, mainly in the quality of materials they are using in the synthetic leather is much better as you stated in the last 30 odd years.

Real leather bags are sweet and all, but they are incredibly expensive to make... So a lot of companies have been going to synthetics over the last dozen years or so... (I'd love to have a bag with my name on it, but I'm not a pro Erik) Happy Birthday By the way,

I haven't had any experience with PU Leather... Put they use it on wood floors and such... I'm not sure of the chemistry behind it, I was a physics nerd myself. But it seems like it would work well, because you only have to refinish floors every 10 or so years because it breaks down and such,

I can't say I have polyurethane as a finish on my guitar anymore, because I actually have an American-made Strat now. But like I said, it seems like it would hold up as a synthetic leather, because real leather is expensive. ($80 for a guitar strap come on)

Well most of the staff bags and cart bags of the past several 40 years are some sort of plastic/vinyl. Most only used genuine leather on the straps,  upper and lower collars etc., with the bodies and pockets being some sort of vinyl. I have a Titleist bag that is about 4-5 years old and the plastic sections are fine. (the zippers another story). I have an old PING bag, and a couple of Millers from the 80's and the bodies hold up fine.
