More On Putting/Chipping Alignment

I tried something new (to me) to help with getting my body alignment more correct on putts, and also found it worked on chips too. In fact, it would probably work on any shot.  I am sure someone else thought of this before me, so I won't take any credit for it. Just sharing it for others who may not be aware of it. 

I basically stumbled across this on my own, by accident, while lining up a putt. 

Prior to stepping into my address position, I have already decided on my aim point. As I step into my address position, I hold what ever club I have chosen, horizontally, at arm's length, down at my hips. The grip end of the club pointing a little left of my chosen aim point. Once comfortable, I take my grip, and place the club head behind the ball. I am ready to start my swing. 

What this does for me, as far as I can tell, is it helps to get my shoulders align correctly, and since the club is horizontal at my hips, I get my feet alingned correctly with my shoulders too. My hips/knees fall in with my feet, and shoulders.

I used this for putting the last couple of days, and found I was rolling the ball a little closer to my chosen line than I normally do. I already considered myself a pretty good putter of the ball, but I did see some noticable improvement. I actually made more putts.  For me, it's going to be another check point in body alignment. 

I am also sure it would work on my chipping, since I use the same stroke as I do for putting. 

As for longer shots, I am inclined to think, at the very least, it couldn't hurt, as far as getting the body aligned properly on normal shots. 

Like I said, this is probably already common knowledge to alot of golfers, but maybe for others it might be helpful.
