Titleist Serial Numbers

Hey all

i just bought a used set of Titleist MB 716s, 3-PW. Upon closer inspection several of the clubs have serial numbers, not just the six iron. The real issue is none of the serial numbers match. The 3 and 4 irons have no serial numbers. The store I bought them from has unconditional 30 day return policy so I can return them but am trying to figure out what the hell is up with the numbers. I though either only the six iron would have a number, or they all would if it was a custom set , and they would certainly match. 

They seem 100% real, but I starting to think I got a “pieced together” set.

I would email Titleist.

Titleist will be able to tell you what the clubs are. Those numbers are really more reference numbers for them to know the specs of the clubs. Depending what adjustments were done to the individual clubs, you can have numerous numbers in one set. Tour van clubs may not have any numbers on them.

It could also be a pieced together set or set where certain clubs were replaced for whatever reason. As long as the specs match, doesn't really matter.

Thanks guys. I called an told the vendor and they were genuinely sorry that they didn’t catch it. Got a full refund and ended up just buying a new set I found on clearance at big box golf store. Now I know they are legit.
