I hope this is not redundant.

So I have finally decided to get a hybrid to replace my 3 iron. I have been doing a lot of research and came to the conclusion to get a steel shaft in it, unless someone here can change my mind to graphite. Anyways, my question is should I put the same shaft I have in my irons in my hybrid? I really want my hybrid to be consistent with my irons, but don't know if a hybrid needs one of it's stock shafts or anything. Also, I don't plan on getting fitted for another six months or so once I buy everything new again, so that's really not an option. Any opinions on what I should look into doing?

I've been wondering about this myself. I have graphite in my hybrids just because that's what came with them.

I'll be interested to hear responses. The whole notion of hybrid I think would lend itself to steel considering the head resembles a wood.

I just purchased two hybrids. (See sig) Both have the Fujikara Speeder Stiff Shafts. These are heavy shafts, similar to what an iron shaft feels like. I've only had them 24 hours and have hit about 25 balls with each.

That said, if you want your hybrid to feel like your iron and want to use graphite, then find a shaft with similar specs to the shafts on your irons; weight, kick point, type of ball flight, etc. You can always have a fitter make any adjustments you need.

I have Adams Idea Pro hybrids and irons... the hybrids have a moderate weight, mid-high kickpoint graphite shaft. The shaft gives me a nice ballflight, not too high, but high enough to stop the 2-iron reasonably. The transition is nice, and the shafts are some of the best I have felt in any club. I think that there are enough graphite shafts out there that one would certainly work. If there is a way for you to test the different shafts that would be ideal, then you simply pick what feels/works best.
