I sure enjoyed seeing Corey Pavin do as well as he did Sunday - what a great round!

Since I started playing 2 years ago, I picked Corey as a player I would follow - mostly because I like to root for underdogs and because his type of play is something I see as much more sensible for me to emulate than Tiger, Phil, Vijay, etc...

I've got very little distance off the tee, so I think developing good scrambling skills is going to be the ticket for me.

Anyone else enjoy watching "The Bulldog" play?

I never really appreciated his knowledge and skill until I read his book that he wrote right after he won the US Open. The book covered his strategy and how he approaches golf along with a primer on shot shaping. It also has a narrative on the approach that he used to win the Open that is insightful. Not on the top ten list, but worth a browse.

I love watching him play, especially when he plays well. Not just because he's a Bruin. I love watching players with my build do well. And I love watching people like Pavin and Funk play fairways-and-greens, because that's the style I attempt to play, too.

The book is

Terrific book. I can hit a draw or fade with my 3-Wood as the need develops. I'd love to see him do an update for modern equipment, as I can't seem to do it with my driver on the range (and accordingly, I don't try to do this on the course).

I love watching the guy play, isn't he the one that walked around the mulched area in that playoff while the other two walked through it and it was like a memorial or something, then he ended up chipping in for eagle and the win.
