  1. Prepare to be perpetually inspired. The American team plays like a bunch of JV's. Welcome aboard.
  2. "I eat pieces of &%$! like you for breakfast!"
  3. I've been using an Ogio Grom bag for a while and its a solid bag. I like their club organization system. My bag is a little heavier than some others but I've been using a pull-cart most of the time. From what I can tell an Ogio bag will last forever. You might find a Ping or Titleist stand bag will be lighter if you carry all the time.
  4. Never played the stuff so I don't know. I think I've seen it around on the net, thats all.
  5. Geeze guys. This guy just admitted he knew nothing about golf and you're going to jump down his throat? Why don't we off some constructive criticism and positive advice?
  6. Its great that you're thinking about shaft choice. The most important decision you'll make is flex which is related to swing speed. Make sure and find out what your swing speed is and choose shafts appropriate to you swing speed. Behind that will come individual shaft characteristics. All the shaft companies you mentioned make perfectly good shafts. It will all depend upon your swing type. Early release, late release, high ball or low ball hitter, are questions you need to answer. Tell us a little about your swing. Do you hit the ball high? What is your swing speed? Do you have left or right tendencies?
  7. I go easy on people if I can but Stephen Ames is my all time most disliked golfer. He seems like one of the cockiest, most self-absorbed people I've ever seen. Hopefully he's entirely different than the way he comes across in interviews. I agree with you on Sabbatini. He's earned our dislike of him but Lehman? I'm not seeing the self-righteous thing. Confidence can easily be misunderstood for cockiness.
  8. Make sure your alignment is good. Shoulders, waist, and feet just to the left of your target. It is very common for players to aim right of the target. Don't thing you've got it right just cause it feels right. Put a club down on the ground or get an experienced player to check for you. Check your grip. Perhaps your grip is too weak. I've finally gotten my grip a little more sorted out and its really helping me. Follow through. I mean really follow through. Don't stab at the ball but swing through it. Get the clubhead around your body in the follow-through and make sure your belt is facing the target. If your belt is facing the target but you haven't followed through you're going to block it about 45-degrees right. Most of all: have fun. Don't get too down on yourself because golf is difficult, especially in the beginning. We shouldn't criticize ourselves for things we don't understand and it takes time to truly understand the golf swing.
  9. Hi Mike. Welcome! I hope you're able to enjoy a bunch of those wonderful Scottish golf courses. Maybe one day I'll get the honor. Do you get to play regularly in the winter months?
  10. This episode was pretty good. I can't believe that these guys weren't hitting greens. I know it was windy but, huh? A bunch of them under clubbed themselves. Kelly showed the most command of his shots and cracks me up with his all his Zen and Yoga crap. I like Kelly. He's the most relaxed guy out there and seems to be having fun. Those slices he hit into the green did the job. A word to the rest of them: A cut with the proper club would have held that green. Not that I could have hit it but you get the idea.
  11. In all seriousness, a big mirror in your garage would help you identify flaws. I've got one from the previous owners (he was an avid golfer) in our garage and I head out there to check my swing a couple times a week. Plus you can flex in the mirror too. Which is cool.
  12. I picked up version 1.1 the other day. Thanks for the heads up.

    Beat This

Nice. I think its about time we had some water problems too. Enjoy the day!
  14. Its pretty tough to miss a driver that looks like that. From what I can gather these clubs help you drive it pretty darned strait.
  15. Its not going to break my heart if it is against the rules of golf because its easy enough for me to line up my chips without a line.
  16. I missed that one. You mean he drew a line down the face of his wedge with a sharpie? Interesting idea.
  17. Those Circa 62 putters sure are beautiful little putters. Hope the new stick works out great for you. Seems like it already has!
  18. I find it way easier to play crazy looking woods than to play extreme-looking irons. I absolutely care about what clubs look like but having said that I would play a crazy looking driver if I knew it help me find more fairways. I think. Habit or preference is the only reason I can think of to do this.
  19. In the post round interview Doug was a little embarrassed. He had only two holes to play and should have spared golf fans the sight. Tacky.
  20. Yeah, I saw that earlier today. This vindication for Phil. I'm sure Tiger will get a pass but this is no different than what Phil has been doing for a while. No different. I'm not hating on Tiger just saying we should apply the same rules accross the board. Some will say that Tiger gets a pass because his dad is gone and that has a ring of validation to it but it made me raise an eyebrow when I thought of Phil's similar plans.
  21. Heh, heh. Callaway should take that as a hint.
  22. For sheer beauty the irons Erik B. posted here a while back are gorgeous. It took a while hunting around the forum to find the pics again. Tiger Woods commemoratives.
  23. Playing Lessons is probably my favorite. There are a couple others that I enjoy... Shell's Wonderful World of Golf and Big Break are good. I'm enjoying the folks on this year's BB. Playing lessons remains the most interesting and helpful of the bunch.
  24. That last picture clears up the address position. I find it hard to get used to a Titleist driver that looks like that. I'm sure I'd get over it quickly if it hits the ball strait and long. Can't wait to hear how the center shafted Scotty plays.
  25. Here's a departure from Titleist: Titleist Tour Proto D Driver . I thought they'd never get away from the pear shape. Apparently even Titleist sees the writing on the wall: technology sells clubs. I'm not sure what I think of that club. My first impression is that it's shaped a little too much like an avocado. We'll have to wait and see how it plays.
