  1. I hit two approach shots yesterday to 4 feet of the hole. Both holes were cut close to the front, just behind a bunker. And yeah, my putter was not working...at all ! Missed both birdie puts!!!! The belly putter is already back in the bag.
  2. I had a horrible round today. Could not keep my driver in the fairway to save my rump! Number 18 at my home course is just about impossible for me to par. The green slopes so much, it is hard to get an approach shot to stick. No way to run it up, bunkers protect it. A draw off the tee plays the best for this hole, so naturally I slice one into the pines on the right. I had 155 to the center, but had to hit a low shot under the limbs to get anywhere near the green. 5 iron punch shot. With a lot of luck, the ball made it through and ended up just 10 yards off the green. Still had do pitch over the trap. Hit a 56 that hopped and dropped 2 feet from the pin! Bam, par baby! Finally!!!
  3. When I was 14, my brother (10 years older) and his hot girlfriend carried me to see Loverboy. I hear one of their songs today, and can go back in my mind to a simpler time of Rock and Roll!
  4. I have not seen it while playing in recent years, but it would not bother me in the least. When I was in college, me and my buddies would light it up. My game would go to hell, so I gave it up when playing. I quit golf for a number of years and shot competitive archery. Tried it shooting archery and could not have the level of concentration I needed to shoot my best. Gave it up altogether in 2001.
  5. Yessss...I would like that for free!
  6. I was playing Tobacco Road my first and only time, and hit a tee shot into some pines. Thought I could rocket one through the trees to get close to the green. My friend, who had helped me locate the ball, was a few feet away. Just as soon as I hit the ball, it came back like a bullet and hit me in the side of the leg and dropped me like a sack of potatoes! Dern pines! My buddy was just about to pass out laughing!
  7. Easter egg hunt for the kids at church on Saturday morning. We had our traditional sunrise service which we do on a hill out back of our church each Easter morn. We then have breakfast afterward in the fellowship hall. We go home for a couple of hours and come back for the 11 am service. It is truly a special time of the year! Then got to kick back and watch my favorite tournament!
  8. Wow! I have just read most of this thread and my sides ache from laughing so hard! Love the stuff about Ivan!
  9. Bridgestone- A better approach for your game.
  10. I just saw this but would have voted for Julien. Interesting how 85% voted for him.
  11. This has been a very good thread! I have implemented "jumping" into my swing and really like it. Really drove the ball well yesterday with a lot of power and control. I started off by pushing off hard with my left foot with great power but little control. I backed off, started into it a little easier and have worked my way up to where I can push or "jump" into it with power. Thanks for posting this thread!
  12. A pet peeve I have just become aware of is golfers who tell you how good they used to be. Ocassionally I tee it up with a guy who has to tell everybody we come in contact with, on the course, how good he used to be, 20 years ago. He sucked then, he sucks now, let your game do the talking. He told me he got paired up with some other guys the other day who constantly out drove him by 20-30 yards. Decided he needed to play some better balls so he could drive it further......he bought some Noodles!
  13. Whewww! What a show! Glad Julien pulled it out. He is coming on strong as a contender. His golf speaks for itself. I, like others have posted, am getting tired of Mark. He has turned into a whiner. I do like the way the season is progressing as far as the fairness of the competition. All the players are being tested with challenges that require all around golf skill. I felt that last season didn't challenge all the players equally. Some were really able to dodge bullets with weak challenges.
  14. I played Keith Hills today! It is a great deal, especially with the 27 holes. Heard they are going to be doing extensive repairs to cart paths and possibly replace greens with heat resistant bermuda. Chicora is also a good deal just down the road at Erwin. Course is in great shape too.
  15. I shot a 39-50 on a par 72 earlier this year. The back nine at my home course is tougher than the front but not that much! Just blew it!
