  1. Yeah I do it all the time. Lol.
  2. Very disappointed Sergio could not pull out the win. Great to see him playing well again. I just want to see him win a tournament relatively soon! Maybe the Open Championship?! I can dream, can't I?
  3. Well no shit. Obviously it's ideal to be good with the scoring irons as well as a great short game - but I think when people tell you to work on your short game, their point is that you'll see that lower your score quicker than pounding out 275 yard drives down the middle each time on the driving range.
  4. I've been playing the MP-57's for 4 years. I don't hit the mid irons all that well, so I'm actually going to the AP1's...They are also so much easier to hit out of thick rough. The only downfall is with the 8-PW...you definitely lose some feel with a thicker CB like the AP1s...Also lose some control I believe.
  5. I'm a 5 and probably hit 10 GIR on a real good day of ballstriking, probably usually about 8 per round and I shoot high 70's...I've shot 76 with hitting 6 GIR. Having a great short game (Which I consider like 40 yards and in...AND putting too) is VITAL to SCORING in golf... I rather shoot a good SCORE than have a good GIR...
  6. Looking for one of these sets in DG S300 OR Project X 5.5. Standard L/L/L please. Thanks for anyone who can help.
  7. I'd say over the past 30 years the ball's changed golf more than any other piece of equipment I believe.
  8. Hasn't Rory been on Tour several years now? Let's not act like Mickelson has done nothing. Does it really matter that he doesn't have a U.S. Open? Not really considering he has a few other majors. I really don't think Rory will win more majors than Phil...That's an impressive resume. To even start talking about McIlroy and Tiger in the same sentence is just ridiculous at this point - that is all.
  9. Let's calm down though. Three professional wins is still nothing. He is a very talented player with a great golf swing, and I think he'll end up having a Mickelson-level career which is still tremendous and one of the best golfers in history...but do I think he'll ever see Tiger's level of dominance or success? Hell no.
  10. Lol...Yeah, this week. He's won twice I believe, that's it.
  11. All the Tiger comparisons are a joke. Let's see him win one first...Lol.
  12. Just a blue dot with a blue sharpie right next to the number on the golf ball...
  13. Oh, lol.. I was just looking at the title. Yeah sure people overstate on here...but I mean there definitely are people out there that can hit it like 280-300 off the tee. Not just Pro's hit it that far.
  14. Honestly, I really don't care. I bet I could hit the ball as far as you lol.
  15. I've been playing for 5 years now. In the next 5 years, I hope to be down to scratch (Well, better, but I've come to realize that being better than scratch probably isn't realistic...). Right now I'm a 5 handicap. I don't see why in ten years you couldn't be if you're willing to dedicate yourself to practicing, and playing as often as you can for the next few seasons. And taking some lessons would probably help.
  16. Why not? Bubba's proven now that he can close the deal and win on the PGA Tour. I think he's definitely a major threat to win this week, or any week now on Tour. With how long he hits it and how good of a putter he is, there's no reason why he can't win a major...
  17. Lee Westwood Bubba Watson Paul Casey Brandt Snedeker Those are my picks lol
  18. Might be interested. I really love the look of these. Problem for me is it's hard to justify purchasing a set like this over the internet, not because I don't think you'd send them or anything, just because I've never hit the clubs lol... I'd have to think about it a bit. If you find another seller within the next week or so, definitely don't feel like holding them back for me or anything. I'll get back to you in a week or so.
  19. I've only played golf in PA, NJ, and ME...so I have no idea. Lol.
  20. Ahhh. So that explains why you haven't reached the Tour yet...
  21. Hitting against a blanket in your garage is nothing like hitting at a real driving range. You have no idea where your golf ball is going. The only feedback you get is if it feels 'solid' off the club face...And if you're a beginner, you probably don't know how it feels to hit a shot to the right/left, draw, fade, etc. Something like that is great in the winter time when there is no alternative - but IMO that won't do all that much for your game if your doing that consistently.
  22. I rarely practice anything below my 8 iron. I usually spend 45 minutes chipping and putting, then about a half hour on the range. Mostly working from 8 iron to SW. The scoring clubs are definitely the most important if you're looking to hit to reduce your score, granted you can keep your driver and low irons in play...Lol.
  23. Depends on your swing and the shape you are in. My father is 60 and still hits it 250-260 off the tee consistently, around the same distance as me and I'm 19.
  24. Yeah, first of all, I thought we were talking about off the tee. Off the tee, I'd definitely take distance. Of course, I'm assuming that the player is hitting it somewhere a just off the fairway...and keeping it in play. Obviously on iron shots accuracy is far more important - but when it comes to tee shots, having distance is huge. I'm going to score a lot better hitting a 9 iron out of the rough then hitting a 6 iron from the middle of the fairway...
  25. I think time is actually a big factor as well as cost. Time & Cost I think are the two main contributors to the declining participation in the game nationwide. My cousin, for example, makes six figures, he's in his mid 30's and would love to play a lot of golf. He's not all that good, probably shoots in the low 90's on a good day...but with his job, he simply does not have the time to join a club or play a lot each year...He would love to be able to join a nice club. He certainly has the money to do so, being single and making six figures...but his job demands so many hours out of his time, he never really has a chance to get out much. I think that is a major problem with many people - especially young ones. There are plenty of early 30 year olds who have the money to play, but they have jobs that demand a lot of time. Then you have others who have the time, but don't really have the money to play much... So IMO time & money are the two biggest factors....
