  1. I served as the tech rep for the area and have many Sonartec fairway woods, hybrids, wedges and bags to clear out. I'll post these in another thread soon.
  2. Not all of the simulators on the market are crap... it more in the setup and the operator. Or like others have mentioned with the power boost or other settings miscalculated (such as altitude) Thinking back to an old tech support saying, it's probably suffering from PEBCAK "Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard"
  3. Have your clubs checked by a club maker/fitter to make sure the lofts are in fact what they are stated (also check length and flex of shafts as well) - This will help establish the gaps a bit more and perhaps you can switch that 56 for a 54, 53, or 52.
  4. There is a point when club angles should level plus most manufacturers figure a golfer swing their wedges the same so it started with that trend. More and more people are learning that the shorter the club the more need to have these clubs fit properly.
  5. Personally, I'd get fitted to see which one performs better (distance and accuracy). Then I'd buy the exact club I demo'd.
  6. I generally fit wedges shorter than the irons, sometimes -1/2" and sometimes -1/4", depending on how the wedges are used (full or 1/2 shots) Same with the shafts, I like to have matching shafts in the wedges that are being used for full shots. You also don't have to match shaft brand or model but I am a believer of making sure the flex is at least close. For example, I use my gap wedge for full shots most of the time so I built it -1/2" with the same shaft as my irons. I use my 55 and 59 wedges for more delicate shots around the greens so I built those -1/4" but using a little softer flex than my irons and with Rifle Spinner shafts because I'm trying to maximize the spin on these two clubs.
  7. Treat it like carrying anywhere else, be mindful of your particular states laws regarding facilities that serve alcohol, golf courses that share boundries with school zones, federal property, indian reservations, etc. A good place to start is the NRA Gun Laws page . Two other sites to use as reference that I know of are http://handgunlaw.us/ and http://usacarry.com/ . Still you are responsible for validating this information, typically you would contact the office of the Secretary of State.
  8. Yes it's the Grafalloy BiMatrix No but Paula Creamer (and others) use the pink NV
  9. A lot of solvent will help get a grip on after applying a lot of wraps.
  10. As Masa mentioned most Yes! putters are 2.5 but most putters can be adjusted for loft as well.
  11. Sorta, can play bat right or left, always throw right. Play hockey lefty, golf right handed
  12. I'd say it depends on the specs you order, some specs like +1/2" with green dot are sometimes kept in stock at some retailers while other may have to order them from Ping. So I'd say it depends more on the retailer as Ping is pretty good about getting things done quickly.
  13. Cords are usually your better bet. Lamkin, Golfpride and now Winn all offer models with cord.
  14. Loft is your friend in most situations. In this case you picked up about 3-4 yards, which is nothing so next you should compare which was more accurate. Also Callaway's tolerance is +/- 2 degrees for some drivers so the 10 that you bought may not exactly be 10 and the 11 that you tried may not be exactly 11. Hope that helps
  15. Odd, I fix them often. While not in Alberta you can contact Camber Golf in Kelowna ( 250-860-7772 ), I know Paul there and he can help you out.
  16. Many Matrix shafts are available in black, not just the OZIK's . Along with many other companies & models...
  17. Yes your 3 and 4 irons are. The 5 iron is a regular flight.
  18. I've noticed the same thing about some blended sets so I use the KZG Evolution irons because the progression and design is much smoother going from the long irons to the short irons. Each iron is 10% different from each adjoining iron. Most manufacturers only vary their blended sets by only 3 club increments.
  19. This is due to the shaft itself more than the flex. You are already using PX flighted shafts which means your 3 & 4 irons are already HL versions, so if you are not happy with these then chances are the Project X's may not be a good fit. If you still like that feel then use a standard set of Rifles or look at something in the True Temper variety. Seeing a fitter and using a launch monitor can help a lot in this situation. Again, I don't recommend that people change their ball flight by using a different flex . Because not only will it affect the ball flight but your accuracy. So I recommend that you use the flex that fits your swing speed and tempo, then find a shaft than meets your desired ball flight. See my point above about dropping flex. Also you are partially correct about the flighted set. Long irons (2, 3, 4) have a lower kick point for higher ball flight, easier launch and greater distance. Mid irons (5, 6, 7) are standard shafts. Short irons (8, 9, P) have a higher kick point for a lower trajectory, greater accuracy and control.
  20. Hi Stuart, Here are a few thoughts, I find the stock shafts in wedges vary quite a bit in frequency and length so I like to re-shaft the wedges to be similar. I usually recommend to use the same shaft and flex (as used in the irons) for the wedges used for full shots. I like to use a launch monitor to measure when a player has too much or too little spin on wedges. That 2nd bullet point may help you decide in your situation. Please feel free to ask any more questions or add any comments too.
  21. I'm pretty sure I know what you mean here but this kind of comes off as saying people should play a stiffer flex to get more accuracy which is not always the case.
  22. I just want to make sure, you are asking for two things. Do you want a softer flex or a different ball flight? I don't recommend using flex to alter ball flight. Project X's are made to hit a lower ball. Read this thread for more information on [URL="
  23. For woods I get a lot of questions/requests for the UST V2, the entire Matrix OZIK line, Aldila's NV and Hybrex Helix Tour (although these shafts are manufactured close by in Tempe, AZ so that helps when they have a good presence at demo days). With irons I would say the Rifle Project X leads here as well as the rest of the Rifle line. I have only received a few questions on the True Temper Black Gold or Tour Concept shafts. Most of my customers are repairing a broken shaft or looking for advice on what shaft to order with their new driver. More and more golfers are getting educated on the benefits of being fitted properly but I see that the majority of the population is unaware of this benefit. I see it often in this forum and others, countless threads are started with the question, "What shaft should I be using?" It's not always an easy question to answer and will usually have to go through a fitting with the launch monitor. Aside from proper fitting I get asked 1 out of 3 times about spining, FLO or PUREing. For me it's a tie between UST and Aldila Interestingly enough better players are looking for a particular feel, regardless of performance often times. They expect a shaft to feel and react a certain way. They are also looking to squeeze out that last bit of distance in their drivers. With fairway wood, hybrids and irons a premium is placed on control and consistency. With mid to high handicap players they are often looking for a swing correction. They want a shaft to minimize their out of bounds or fix a slice. As much as it's talked about online not many people discuss things like the frequency, torque, profile, etc when in person. I attribute a lot of this to what I mentioned above about the majority of golfers I see just not aware of this information.
  24. Yeah I'm with ya here....mano a mano!
