  1. I play MP-14s even if many might think my handicap does not warrant it. I got here within a year of starting golf and am pleased as punch with that. Bought mine off ebay for a steal. Put a nice swing on the ball and they are the best feeling in the world. I cant hit my 3 iron though...yet. Getting there. http://equip2golf.com/specifications...uno_mp_14.html
  2. I have an absolute love-hate relationship with my fairway woods. The times I keep the ball slightly ahead of the middle of my stance and when i dont try to knock the cover off the ball, i hit them pretty good. When I try to do things like punching it, hitting down etc, my swing tempo goes awry and the result is..well..not nice to see. Also, my score becomes a disaster when i pull out my fairway woods for anything other than the short grass.
  3. When you set up to the ball, what aspect of the clubface are you paying most attention to?
  4. Sometimes I think all this Tiger talk by the commentators is going to cause him to not reach the levels he might go to otherwise. On another note, what a fine win for Bateman. That's the nicest winner I have seen for a while.
  5. Thanks all. I took a two week break and am good to go now. With all the rain in Oklahoma, I did not miss much I think.
  6. I worked on cupping the right wrist during my backswing today. My release and consequently distance seemed really good. Now If only I can keep it all together for a full round of golf..
  7. I just finished reading 'Golf is not a game of perfect'. Now the challenge is to carry the same mentality throughout every round of golf. I think it really works. I think I scared my regular playing partner with a new mindset the last time we played.
  8. Google search. I think it is an apt name too. I cant get out of this bunker.
  9. I have got a painful muscular injury in the ribs at absolutely the wrong time of my golf learning. The pain seems to travel to the back if I treat the front and viceversa. I had this 'bug' last winter too but it went away mysteriously after a while. Anyone experienced this before and got suggestions. Also what do you do to avoid injuries? I seem pretty prone to them. I do stretch and warm up before I play always.
  10. iacas, thanks for that. I was also of the opinion that it is lower body, left hip, shoulder, arms and finally hands.
  11. I do finish on my right toe/thumb but still am pretty light on my left side. Like I said, i cant quantify it.
  12. I would like to know what this group thinks about weight transfer. I have read a few swing gurus advise that weight should shift from 80% backfoot at full backswing to about 10% backfoot at the bottom of the swing. While I understand that it is difficult to actually measure, I find that I actually hit it a lot better with a lot of my bodyweight on my backfoot throughout the swing and a strong straightening of my backfoot through impact. What do you all think?
  13. That's precisely what I thought too. But I let it pass because he said it with a smile. I guess its got to do with age..lol.
  14. I love watching Phil but today I guess that was a bit of a whinge after the round.
  15. I draw a line all around the ball on the seam. How many of you use a line on the seam to align putts?. To the ones who do and to all those pro v folks out there who get it readymade, what is the length of putt for which you will pick the ball up and align?. Again, to the ones who do, how do you align the seam on a tee when you hit driver?.
  16. I think I crossed the bridge on this one recently. Try this: Swing your club parallel to the ground.. make a flat swing. Tilt your swing plane till it goes to the ground. This may help you with the release concept. You could also try swinging the club when you are kneeling. Hope it helps.
  17. 250 yard draw off the tee. It was upwind and slightly uphill too. Played in a 4 man scramble. I dont hit the ball further than 250.. I must have caught that right I guess.
  18. Nassau - You are welcome to the Hotel California.
  19. I think the law of diminishing returns should kick in at some point of time..dunno when. would be interested in what Erik has to say though..he seems to be quite a numbers man.
  20. Great read!. Thanks. I will add these thoughts to the 400 separate thoughts I already have as I tee it up. Is there something called muscle memory in a golf swing?
  21. What about 'that sound messed me up on the downswing?'
  22. 1. A consistent repeating swing. ( actually my driving range swing! ) 2. Short game control. 3. Course management.
  23. Ok! here's my story. I've been playing a year now and just love the game as much as you guys out there. It was a 325 yard par four. I drove it 240 and hit my wedge.. it pitched about 10 feet in front of the pin, released and went straight in for eagle. I hope to start breaking 90 consistently now. Damn! I love this game.
