I would really like to get my index down to the low teens. I would like to consistently break 90, I typically shoot low 90's with my best round being an 85.
-
No worries MaxPower, I wasn't as clear as I should have been in my original post either!

Ok, this sounds like the golfers I play with... If everyone yelled Fore when you lose sight of a ball (and have no reason to believe you've hit it toward other golfers), it would be like chicken little "the sky is falling" on the course...
-
Well mate, it's obviously not a question of "too much work" but thanks for your concern...
-
Maybe I'm the odd man out here because, depending on the sky conditions, I sometimes lose my ball off the tee. I've never really considered yelling Fore in that case (and it's happened to me more than once). On the other hand, were I to hit someone in that scenario, I'd be very apologetic and not act like the guy described in the original post...

I dunno Jamo, I think throwing the ball OB was over the line. Sure, you can get upset and have some words but when you destroy someone else's property (yeah, even a Ram ball qualifies), you crossed the line IMO.

Yeah, I think you did. Crap happens, you gotta learn to deal with it. I suspect if you hadn't have blown up on the 2 prior holes you may have reacted differently.

I too wear progressive lenses and have given up on wearing them when golfing. I'm in the process of getting distance only contact lenses that I will wear instead of the glasses.

Just went back to my clubfitter to check the lie on my new irons. I had been consistently hitting to the left and the fitter suggested that I stop in for a lie check. After hitting of the lie board, it was clear that the clubs were 1 to 2 degrees off and I'm having them adjusted accordingly. I love these Irons, they are such an improvement over my 10 year old Top Flight tour set. Hopefully this will dial them in even more! Gotta love a good fitting.`

Anyone have a club in your bag that you never use?

I carry a golf umbrella in my bag that I've never used. -

Sweet! Big Wishon fan myself as you can see by my bag below! -
I smell "troll"...

Only when I'm wearing my FJ golf sandals!

I love me my FJ golf sandals. Can't wait until the weather is hot enough to break them out again this year!

My group calls that hit a "Schlenker" and requires that the offending party pay $1 (for each Schlenker) to the other 3 golfers at the end of the round. I'll take a buck over seeing a guy walk around the golf course with his junk on display any day!

Does anybody have any ideas where I could order about 40 blank golf towels? My wife has an embroidery machine and I'd like to have her make up some custom towels to pass out at our upcoming Myrtle Beach trip. I've found a few places online but they are all in the $3 per towel range and above. While that may be a pretty good price, I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that sells them even cheaper.

Just came back from Myrtle Beach - Course REVIEW
Huffy2k replied to jcard71's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Thanks for the heads up - good news on King's North and Willbrook as we'll be heading down in a few weeks and those are 2 of the courses on our schedule. We are not playing True Blue or Caledonia this year but I agree with you, they are both always great courses. Besides King's North and Willbrook, we're scheduled to play Legends Moorland, Lion's Eye, Tiger's Paw, and Leopards Chase, Tradition, and Wild Wing. I had not heard of the DeBordieu course before, do you have to have a connection to get off there if it's a private course? -
Thanks Eric! Great job on the forum.

Hey Danny, I'm with Bo - regular running is the answer. A few years ago I came to the non-surprising conclusion that I had never really seen an overweight runner and decided to give it a try. I've been running regularly for 4 years now and it continues to work for me. Ran 11 miles yesterday (in the snow) as part of my training regimen for a 1/2 marathon in May. Good luck!

Congrats on the great shot but I'm not sure how you consider that getting hosed? After all, your opponents are not going to reverse mulligan a poor shot are they? So you got a 6 on the hole, nobody can take away your holing out from the fairway!

If you had to have one brand of clubs in your bag....
Huffy2k replied to golf4tito's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I've just gotten a set of Tom Wishon 770CFE Irons with #3-5 785 hybrids also from Tom Wishon. I'm very impressed with these clubs so far. Wishon is a zealot for custom fitting clubs along with being a very innovative club designer. -
Swing Thoughts - What's your current thought of the day?

Mine is "belt buckle and sternum to target" reminding me to follow through on my swing... -
The only club I take with me to the mat is my "Tour Striker" 8 iron. Believe the infomercial, that club really does work and forces you to hit down on the ball.

I would have to say it's a toss up between Spyglass Hill and the TPC Las Vegas. Spyglass, with all the ocean views and the wildlife (deer, sea lions) was an amazing experience to a landlocked guy like myself. TPC Vegas was my first experience with desert golf, a great course and don't forget your "rock club".
