Any diagrams or pictures of a proper grip
Chilidipper posted a topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I know it sounds silly, but I am having a hard time finding a picture of the grip. Also do you know where to find a picture of the club head at address. I think I have the club face to open, but when I "set it normal" it looks closed. -
And if so which tournaments do you think Tadd will gain invites to? Do you think he will get more than 3 invites to PGA tourneys?
-
Briny has great putting and GIR's. I look for him to win a tourney.
-
I like his attitude. When he was asked about the final round and his experiences on the 18th hole in tourneys he said he wanted to focus on the positives and not the negatives. I liked how he handled himself and how he seemed to be in a good mood. The tour benefits from players like this IMO.

My daugther has a spring break, which I am taking a week off of work during that time. My dad and I are going to go with my mother/daugther grandma and my fiancee. We want to go somewhere fairly affordable, and conducive to golf in the months of mid march. Of course we want there to be functions for my fiancee, mother, and daugther to be active with. Swimming, theme parks, anything like that would do. Anyone provide insight or any creative ideas? 50-80 dollar greens fees would be in our range, of course I would go 100 if the place was top notch. Thanks in advance for any input.

I apologize if these annoy people but I really do enjoy them. Tommy Gainey will make atleast his career total in earnings this season? James Nitties big break contestant now on the tour places in a top 10 this year in atleast one tourney? Tadd Fujikawa gets a top 10 this year in a tournement? JB Holmes gets 0 top 10's and struggles to even contend in tourneys this year? Notah Begay finishes in the top 10 in a Pga event in 2009? Last question. a tour player who never has won on tour before wins 3 or more tournements this year? Thank you

I am kind of pulling for him to win this tourney. Although Tommie Gainey or Nitties would be cool. I love big break lol

After talking to 3-4 people around the office I convinced a co worker to go diving with me at Dicks and Golf Galaxy. Listed below is what we found. 6 and 7 irons big bertha heads callaway display plastic to ping mats that had major wear and tear. bag full of driver head covers A bunch of trash and garbage and scrap from shafts etc. It was fun to be honest.

It seems Geoff has distances himself from everyone. Nailing that eagle was big. He is sitting at -23 the next is -17. I think it's safe to say he owned the other 32.

Yeah it's usually the first thing to go on the pro golfers. Kind of weird, but Faldo made note of that on saturday and I have read that before in Golf Digest. The putter leaving..... hmmm

20+ handicappers hitting 300 yards (mild rant)
Chilidipper replied to extremeld's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Bottomline is that each hole on each course has it's own identity. You play the best way you can play, I'm not trying to convince you otherwise. I am merely saying that distance is very important, just as important as accuracy. I'd rather be in the rough 50+ longer than vice versa. I will play a 3 hybrid off the tee, and sometimes a 4. Nothing wrong with playing smart golf. But for me a 8i or 9i into a green is much better than a 5-6 out of the fw for me. -

I'm not saying a 20 handicapper can average 300 nor can a 14.1 for that matter. What I am saying is distance is just as important as accuracy when it comes to scoring off the tee shots. I'd rather be 50 yards closer everytime at 50% than 50 yards out at 70% is all I am saying. And to be honest so would the pros. -

I disagree that distance has nothing to do with scoring. With the way the grooves on the wedges are now a days, you can control your wedge play a lot more. With the box grooves you can spin it almost as much as you can spin it off the fw. Reaching 6,000 rpm's even out of the rough. If you are 110 yards longer but in the rough, you are in a prime location or atleast for most players. Id rather be in the rough 125 out rather than 175 on the fw. I think a lot of golfers would.... If you look at fw hits and scoring I took 11 of the top golfers in scoring average and looked at driving distance and accuracy. In no particular order on scoring but they are top 11 in scoring last year. First number is rank is fw hit and second is driving distance Perry 120/33 Leonard 40/156 Allenby 70/61 Furyk 28/162 Singh 150/25 Garcia 153/43 Mickelson 181/35 Harrington 154/32 Kim 159/11 Villegas 166/50 Els 173/64 -
Sub the last part about how they look in person is a FACT. 3 things stood out last time I saw the pros play. Ernie Els is taller than 6 ft 4. Phil Mickelson is not fat Sergio Garcia looks like he has an eating disorder. In person

Boo is never going to look those guys. Besides Boo has two wins just like those two guys.

I don't know if all manufactures do this or not, but I have a 3 hybrid slingshot that is a tour model. If you compare it with the other slingshots, it's more narrow and solid. I also have a 23 degree Callaway tour model hybrid. The guy I buy theses off of insist there is a difference. My friend who is a scratch golfer, borrowed the 3i and said he could hit it 10 yards farther than his regular nickent 3 hybrid. Take that for what it's worth, just wondering. Thanks

Anybody watching Geoff tear it up this week? Dood has been money. He has been very long at times of the tee and in control of his game. His iron play has been good and his short game has been awesome. He is a 100% scrambling this week! 20 birdies to 1 bogey I'd take that ratio anyday of the week! Anyway if he can hold onto this lead this will be career PGA Win number 5 with a major already, US open none the less. Not saying he is going into the HOF, at 31 there are other players younger with more wins etc..... But thats not to shabby. BTW did anyone see his drive yesterday on the back 9. Correct me if I am wrong but he hit is 415?! Thoughts on Jeff and his tourney/career?

I currently play a very weak grip. It's weak enough to wear I hit the ball about 15 yards shorter than I should. It goes up pretty dang high and lands soft but doesn't have the push/bore that a good shot should. It cuts about 1-3 yards to the right. Not horrible and I can actually play it pretty well now. I tried going to a stronger grip so I have a stronger more active release. Only problem is it feels so f-ing weird at the top. I look in the mirror and it looks like a normal shot but the feel is weird. Is this something that takes a long time?

How good do you need to be to play on PGA tour?
Chilidipper replied to LongballGer's topic in Tour Talk
I saw Tiger and the gang at the range they where peppering this palm tree with precision. He would hit a PW 130 then hit his 8 iron and just mix up all these shots but they kept going the same exact distance. I am not a good golfer, but is this a common practice. It was insane some of the shots where so low but just burrowing through the air. It was a lot of fun. -

I think between the ears and the flat stick. But im a 20+ handicap so what the funk do I know. -
I agree that you can't just play golf. Tiger loves to lift and run do that sort of thing. Jack was a huge fisherman traveling to countries like Russia to fly fish Salmon. Johnny Miller was a pretty big outdoors men. I agree no big deal at least in my eyes that Scott likes to surf. What about Boo Weekley, he plays golf so he can fish and hunt. Boo has even gone on record saying that he likes fishing and hunting more than golf.

Mahan he seems to be blossoming into a fine player. One thing to make note of. Mahan is a 186 in putting averaging over 30 putts a round. Eeeeek

my divot foes the right way but i still slice?
Chilidipper replied to augafan48's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I play all my shots with a slight fade at the end of them. Anywhere from 3- yards to feet, but my shots always cut/fade. I can roll my hands more often, but I perfer to hit with a more open club face. All my misses are to the right. Anybody else use this strategy?
