  1. I had a collections agency call me repeated times because someone else had the same name as I in the same city. I kept telling them it wasn't me. Finally, after about four calls I simply explained that I wasn't going to speak to the caller and asked for the supervisor right off the bat. Once I had the supervisor I explained that I wasn't the person with the account they were looking for and that I wanted them to stop calling me. The supervisor asked me for my SSN and I said I wasn't about to give that out to someone who called me for security reasons. I then asked them to give me the SSN they were looking for instead. I was surprised when he told me. I confirmed that wasn't me and I never heard from them again. SRJ
  2. I've always been a huge advocate for taking lessons and having a pro diagnose your swing. I have always thought that it's better to do that than try to fix things yourself. Well, I figured if I'm going to say that then I should try both. So, here's my swing: I definitely learned a lot looking at my swing and saw a bunch of flaws right off the bat. I'll let you guys tell me what you think before I post what I think. Thanks in advance for any feedback. SRJ
  3. Is that a scratch I see in the second picture?
  4. I've had it a couple of times. I'm no greens expert, but I doubt replacing it is going to do much good other than allowing for a small spot to be smooth for a couple of days before that part dies or is swept away by a mower. I just toss it and do my best to make the area puttable for anyone playing after me.
  5. NOOOOOOOO! Brian is way too entertaining. I laugh every time I hear him talk about how good he is or how he's the best at a certain (almost all) shot. It's almost unbelievable that he really says that stuff. Blake has really turned his attitude around this time. I couldn't stand him during his first appearance. This time I hope he goes far if he keeps his attitude going the way he is.
  6. If they are doing that before the round, why not just let them do it during the round?
  7. Because if the sprinkler heads are wrong, it's not thinking it is guessing. Let them get the right yardage and then they can do their thinking on the wind, slope, etc..
  8. That is absolutely twisted. (I'd probably do the same )
  9. I like the idea. If the sprinkler heads are accurate then they are going to get the yardage anyway. If they are incorrect then there is no sense in making the yardage a guessing game.
  10. I don't have this bag so I can't speak from actually using it, but I'm pretty sure this bag is the same exact one as the Sun Mountain Four-5 with the Titleist logo on it. I looked hard at the Four-5 when shopping for a bag recently and I was torn between it and the Grom. Although I picked the Grom, the Four-5 seemed like a great bag and one I would have been happy with. SRJ
  11. I was out on the range this morning around 50 and was very comfortable. Wind was blowing quite strong too, maybe 25 mph. One other guy came out while I was out there, but didn't stay as long. It started to rain a little right before I left.
  12. I clean my clubs after every shot too, but every few weeks I like to give them a deep clean. I'm mainly going after the grips, but find I can clean out the grooves a little too. I'm good at keeping the big stuff cleaned out, but there is always a little dirt and grime the corners.
  13. 1. Scrub with a brush and warm soapy water. 2. Scrub grip end. 3. Put finger over hole in grip, rinse grip and club. 4. Wipe with dry towel. Use air compressor to get water out of cavity back if needed.
  14. That thread had potential to go down hill very quickly. I even commented on it making a joke, later thinking it may not have been a good idea since it only fueled the thread. We'll never know, but I'm betting in the long run it was a good thing it was locked.
  15. I suggest getting a notebook for golf and writing down what you learned right after the lesson. It's amazing how you will forget little details in as short as a week. I still refer back to information on lessons I took three years ago to pick up on little details I have forgotten. As others have said, practice, practice, practice. Don't be surprised if you all of a sudden start hitting the ball worse too. I always seem to have a great practice day right after the lesson and then have a horrible day. It comes back better though, so stick with it and trust what you have learned. A lot of people don't practice and your body wants to revert back to the old way because it is comfortable.
  16. I know nobody has said yes yet, but for those who do need to be clear up front: VIDEO OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!
  17. Ditto. Lots of uses on the range. I leave them in the bag while playing and they make a great place to put head covers while using a club that has one.
  18. The short answer, most likely no, the ball will probably not end up exactly on the line where you were aiming. The image below was on one of the replies iacas posted in another thread and is a great summary of the possible ball flights. In your question, C or G would apply. The ball may land where you were aiming assuming you were aiming at E, but it all depends on the degree the club face varies from the swing path. Most likely the ball would curve more or less resulting in the ball being to the right or left of the aiming point. (Looks like WUTiger posted a great link to another thread with more info before I pulled the trigger on this one)
  19. This is one of those truly enlightening threads I find every so often. I have always lined up with the clubface square. I hit the range this afternoon and tried lining up with the clubface slightly open. The majority of my shots were straight or slight draws with much better contact. I did have the occasional straight push. I think my mind tries to really square up the clubface if it starts that way, but having it slightly open and coming into the inside of the ball really seemed to be easier. I hit a lot more shots dead center of the sweet spot. I can't wait to see how this continues.
  20. Have fun, and if your partner is really good enjoy and learn.
  21. Didn't affect her
  22. What's the difference between a golf ball and a G-spot? A man will spend two hours looking for a golf ball.
  23. Trust me, that's not the least romantic gesture I have ever done I'm pretty sure that's the #2. It sure is a bum wrap.
  24. In honor of this thread I treated my wife to some Del Taco tonight.
  25. I had the smae thing happen to me. My wife gave her brother a bunch of money because he was whining about not having enough and then he went on a big golf vacation. I will never, ever feel bad about spending money on golf for myself after that. I figure if she thinks we have enough to give away then there is plenty enough for me to spend when I want. The guy is a financial planner too. Go figure.
