  1. Good commercial, but I still like the one where the guy tries to steal Tiger's golf bag while he's at the practice range.
  2. Its good to see Padraig Harrington finally win a major. He's been one of the tour's top players for several years but has always come up short for some reason or another. Also, he's been out of the spotlight lately ever since the new crop of rising stars (Adam Scott, Paul Casey, Luke Donald, etc) have burst on the scene. Always a stalwart at the Ryder Cup, a major win rounds out his career very well. Nice going Pardraig!
  3. Added a Cleveland 50* & 58* to my bag earlier this year and have to say that I am really happy with the way they perform! The 50* is my money club that I can always count on. Good luck to you this season .... hit 'em close!

    My Clubs

Heh heh, glad to see that I am not the only one who does that! What better way to spend a rainy day (if you can't be out on the course, of course!)
  5. I've dropped the 5W and 3i from the bag for the last 2 yrs now and replaced them with a 2H & 3H respectively. Found out that hitting a fairway wood off the turf was a roll of dice when I really needed it most. Although I've gone through several different manufacturers (Cobra, TM, Cleveland, Callaway) I've finally found one that really performs well (for me, at least) ... Adams Idea Pro. A smooth/controlled backswing (forget trying of kill the ball) will produce a well struck ball that sails toward your intended target.
  6. The Odyssey XG Rossie mallet putter (previously used their 2-Ball putter which was equally as good). I've always like the classic look of a blade putter but could not get the feel part down pat. I think the heavier weight of a mallet putter gives me a better feel & tempo. The kicker is that I recently visited the local GolfSmith store and happen to try the new SRT 2-Ball putter (same as the original 2-Ball but now has an alloy ring for support) and of course .... sank everything in sight. Argh ... bastards!
  7. I agree with you regarding some of their naming conventions ... they're a little out there, but I guess Nike is looking to cover the entire spectrum of golfers.
  8. Hello right back at ya (from NJ)! That's got to be a real strange (and awesome) feeling to be able to play golf all day (err nite) long. But isn't that what we all want?
  9. Systems IT consultant ..... yes, it truly does suck so hence the trip to Lotteryville ever now and then! I am usually able to view TST at work so that at least makes the day go by faster.
  10. Hey folks .... just wanted to drop by and say hello. I am new to this website which I happen to stumble across while doing a google search for what else ...... golf!!! Also still trying to win the lottery so I can stop sneaking out of work to play every so often. What can I say ... its an addiction! I will seek help soon. I've been playing for the past 8 yrs now and the game still needs plenty of work in all areas. Most of my rounds have been played here in the Northeast but I am slated to move to SC by mid next year .... so I'm really looking forward to playing the many great courses down there. That's about it for now .... hope to learn from the great conversations going on here as well as throw in my two cents when I can. -m
  11. Definitely hit down on the ball. Also, your shorter irons like your wedges are easier to spin.
  12. TaylorMade R7 TP. Just got them about 2 months ago and really like the feel/playability. Initially intended to get the Callaway X20 Tour but after hitting them both I seem to have a tighter shot dispersion with the R7.
  13. Probably my most versatile club ... GW (Cleveland CG10 50 deg). Added this to my bag when I first started playing and have owned one ever since.
  14. I've tried some hybrids (TM Rescue Mid, Cobra Baffler, Cleveland Halo, Callaway X) and have found the Adams Idea Pro to be very playable (if you don't mind the look of a smaller head). I have the 3i (20deg) and am looking to add the 2i (18 deg).
