I had my first ever lesson the other day and after 2 hours of working on my new swing on the range im hitting the ball 10-15 yards further with my irons. Lessons are definitely the way to go if you are committed to practicing the new things you are being taught.

What course is this?

I feel pretty weak with my best being a +7 78 at a 10 handicap while other people with the same handicap or higher have been under par.

Rocco has some life, Tiger just left one short from out of the bunker.

Help me with a couple basic rules on messed up hits

= RULE 27-1: If a ball is lost or out of bounds, the player must play a ball, under penalty of one stroke, as nearly as possible to the spot where the original ball was played. RULE 26-1: If the ball is in or lost in a water hazard (whether the ball lies in water or not), the player may under penalty of one stroke: a. Play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played (see rule 20-5); or b. Drop a ball behind the water hazard, keeping the point at which the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard directly between the hole and the spot on which the ball is dropped with no limit to how far behind the water hazard the ball may be dropped; or c. As additional option savailable onl if the ball last crossed the margin of a lateral water hazard, drop a ball outside the water hazard within two club-lengths of and not nearer the hole than the point where the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard or a point on the opposite margin of the water hazard equidistant from the hole. You can also play the ball in the hazard, but you may not ground your club before making contact with the ball, treat this as a bunker. The first rule answers your question about the out of bounds. I think you mean if the ball is on another hole or fairway you can still play it without any penalty as long as the ball is within the white stakes. -
I missed a 20 foot birdie putt on the 18th for a 79. It just barely lipped out, but my score was still my best ever at 80.

I've been playing well this summer until the last two weeks. What killed me was how erratic I was with my driver. In one round of 18 holes, I hit only one fairway. The tee balls don't need to be huge, they just need to be straight and in play. Also, try to eliminate the three-putts, that can lower your score by a few strokes per round. Before a round I'd hit a few wedges just to get a feel for the swing and putt for about 15-20 minutes. Also get in a few baby chip shots too.

I like the sudden death because it adds more suspense to each hole compared to an 18-hole playoff.

I'm 14, at my club we have a few junior tournaments every summer (4-5), but they aren't fun because they're only 9 holes instead of 18. Most of the members don't think we're good enough to play when they do, but most of the juniors could kick their butts any day. All in all our junior program is pretty good, we have clinics every thursday morning and the older juniors get to play 9 holes at 5 in the evening. We have a new head pro this year who is making everything a lot better than last year.

The greatest game ever played.

Do you all hook the daylights out of yoru Hybrid?
GolfAddict replied to despereaux's topic in Golf Talk
My Taylormade hybrid has more of an offset than I would like causing me to hit huge hooks. -
Yup, it's what me and my friends do during most of the summer.
-
I've probably gotten in at least 40 rounds this year.

Do you feel the urge to only use 1 company's golf equipment?
GolfAddict replied to GITrDONE's topic in Golf Talk
I'd rather have a mixed bag then all of one brand. IF you use only one brand you limit your options to what fits your swing best. -
My goals for the end of the summer are: Break 80 Better Course management Get clubs that fit for me and aren't my dad's old ones Learn to play a draw better Hit more fairways (I'm much to wild off the tee)

My golf tryouts would be on the 28th-30th, I needed to get my physical in by the 10th, but my mom never called the doctor to get an appointment for the physical, so I guess I'm trying out next year. It sucks because I have a chance to get on varsity as a freshman. I need to shoot an 85 to beat out the last man on varsity and I'm playing the best golf of my life. I shot an 80 the other day with a 2 over 38 on the back. But, for the rest of the summer I'm trying to break 80 and make myself much better so I can be on varsity next year.

Hey, I'm John, I'm 14 and I'm from Berwyn, PA. I play my golf at Waynesborough Country Club. We had the 2000 and 2002 SEI Pennsylvania Classic PGA Tour Events there. I've been playing since I was 11 and I've developed an addiction to golf. I Play almost every day during the summer.

I guess it was just me, but when I started out I whiffing was a big problem for me to overcome. But then again, I was only 10 so I guess I wanted to see the ball before I hit it.
-
Golf is never easy the first time around, when I first started playing whiffs were very common along with enormous slices.
-
I can get 'em out to 240-250. Can occasionally bomb one out there 270 or 280. But my game fits my style, I don't like to get too close because I'm better at long irons than my wedges.

It was the 195 yard par 3. I pulled out my 4 hybrid and put it to 6 inches. Tap in birdies are alwasy nice.

Played my home course today from the members and shot my best ever 80 (Par 71). It was at Waynesborough Country Club Shot a 42 on the front (Par 35), and a 38 on the back (Par 36). Could've been better. I had one 3-putt on each nine, and I ruined some holes with bad club selection.

Natalie is definitely hotter.
