  1. Yea you'll mostly have hard time getting it up
  2. so Im going up to visit my sister an hour up the hudson...should i drive out to bethpage on day one on my way up to make the tee time and play on my way home on day 7? or can i just call to make a tee time on day 1. Sorry im not experienced in this sort of thing courses playing hard to get.
  3. ORANGE COUNTY NATIONAL is amazing im biased i love it there. also Metro West. OCN is like my lovechild though i have dreams of her.
  4. It really depends on the grind of your wedge some stock wedges are coming with deep sole grinds these days. It is very important to wedge play and an underrated aspect of equipment these days. I played around with some old wedges getting to a grind i like. I have a very diffrent grind on my 53d than on my 58 because my 58 is my sand wedge and i like the bounce. But opening the face on my 53d acctually degreases the bounce on it due to the grind.
  5. just the range no bigg, should prolly have been practicing putting/chipping anyways :D
  6. I work at a CC just show up look respectable and be ready to kiss butt. At Country Clubs its all about smiling and nodding, maybe a little laugh for good measure. I love pla....errr working there though!
  7. Im cheating and telling my two shot grind for a birdie. I was playing a short par 4 and hit a horrible drive about 200 yards into the left rough, I had a 185 shot with a tree blocking the pin and all but the right-most 5 yards of the green. I hit a 5I draw to pin high but on the fringe and chipped in from 15 ft. NO fairway, NO green in reg, birdie easily never done that before.
  8. shot a +5 76, i was so happy if only I didn't finish bogey, bogey. I one putted 6 in a row though....
  9. i think you dropped these I understand what you said.....just kinda jerky about it.
  10. Make every putt!!! I hit about 70 percent of greens in reg. including about 30 percent of par 5s in 2 so..... making every putt would be awesome and rich.....
  11. I used to do this....i got better when I forced myself out of this because i would rather lose a few nice balls than go into a hole, or series of holes telling myself that i need to play a cheap ball cuz im gonna lose it anyways. Golfs all about setting your expectations. case in point; I was playing a round with some guys last week for 5 bucks a hole and i started out losing 4/5 holes due to bogeys. Once I got to a hole i felt comfortable on, i carded a birdie....I ended up gaining confidence from there and winning 15 dollars. Its all confidence and expectations. I played a Nike platinum all day. btw
  12. I 10s are better......just saying :D
  13. I think you would be well off with any of the mid improvement irons such as Ping I 10/I 5 Cally X 18/20 Cobra FP Cleveland CG Gold/Red doesn't matter to me, they seem the same when ive hit em. I would reccomend you try the New Ping I 10 or the I 5s if your looking a little cheaper. also X18s can be had pretty cheaply now.
  14. I work @ a nice club, Members place nice balls.....I find, clean, and then also play nice balls. Pro V, HX tours, and my favs Bridgestone B330's. I have not bought balls in.....a year or more.
  15. Orange County National in the Orlando area has the best practice area ive ever seen, its a complete circle range id say 600 yards across, with putting greens, Chipping areas (80+yards) and sand shot practice areas all around the range. Feels something like disneyworld (which is actually like 20 miles away) Not hitting Pinacles here.....Cally Hx Hot mostly http://www.ocngolf.com/layout9.asp?id=322&page;=7732
  16. only in celebration, my putter after sinking a 30+ footer
  17. Kizer and Riverside are good. Falconhead is a beast, sometimes you can find a deal there too. My dad raves about the quarrey in SA, i have not played it. lions is great weekday its a fun course. wish I could help more.....Austin needs more places like Falconhead. semi-private type things.
  18. haha i did the same but i think i may have nicked a cart path; still 140 out on a par 5
  19. you will be playing so well by the end of the week
  20. i love my TM monza corza, it has been shaving stokes for sure. just make sure you practice with whatever you choose, its no good if you neglect to practice.
  21. I'll be there in early october too! Garner conference in disney?? anyways I always play OCN atleast once and last time i played Buena Vista @ Disney and liked it so i'll prolly go back there for a round.
  22. chiropractors best friend. I didn't like it when i played around with it, little to no feel.
  23. Practice chipping like your hitting down on the ball, this always helps me when i need the ball to choke up on the green. Just make sure you practice this alot, for it brings into play some dangerous possiblities.
  24. good luck, Im also thinking about switching to the taylormade brand of putters.
  25. its not so complicated,.....but I do that on every shot I hit. If I am making my ball move, then atleast Im controlling it. If I try to hit it straight everytime its either gonna go straight, left or right, id like to know. That said i mainly hit fades, because they are easier for me. haha.
