  1. Everything, basically. 1. Utilising hybrids on my long game. I've finally started using them and they are better. Need to place the ball further back in my stance a touch and get a more penetrating flight. 2. Short game. Too many three putts. Must aim to leave myself uphill putts more often instead of going for tightly positioned pins that will nearly always leave downhill putts when I miss. 3. Don't dwell over the ball. Short waggle and strike. I nearly always tense up after more than a couple of seconds.
  2. Think Ernie's is somewhat exaggerated there because of the wind and wanting to be extra cautious but I still hadn't noticed he was waggling that long. Good spot.
  3. Golf is a sport that relies on the players to be the umpires and referees in 99.9% of matches played across the world. If you can't abide by that, I think it makes you less of a golfer.
  4. Good swing LBG but just wanna make an observation. Everything I see tells me to get into position quickly and make my swing. You take a while to get yourself settled down into your stance to make your shot, something the pros don't do. Are you aware of this and are you working on it?
  5. I mean that he does really scare other players anymore, they know they can live with him.
  6. A. Best to worst: PGA Tour European Tour Champions Tour Nationwide Tour LPGA I've put Champions ahead of Nationwide simply because their mental game has that edge. Q. You can only play one style of course ever again, do you pick links or parkland?
  7. I was playing a RAM hybrid this morning, a 21*, and it was much better than my 3i. It's so much easier to get into the air but the particular model I have is from their Wizard iron set aimed at uber beginners and it balloons up too much for my liking. I may ask Santa for a more penetrating pair of hybrids. This month's Today's Golfer has an extensive review on them, I can't recommend the edition highly enough. Get down the shop and pick it up. I'm actually just up the road from Northallerton in Middlesbrough (from Northern Ireland originally) so let me know how that course works out, I may go down and play it some time.
  8. I did this on a couple of rounds recently. Checked out my setup and turned out I had the face every so slightly closed at address due to incorrect foot alignment.
  9. http://www.inglebybarwickgolfacademy.co.uk/ Quite a new 9 hole course with cleverly positioned second tees on some holes to make 18 holes more than just the same nine twice. Very reasonably priced for a round. Will be joining as a full member in January.
  10. Shot a 98 this morning, my first sub-100 round since last summer so I'm actually very pleased. 37 putts which is disappointing, especially when I only hit two GIR and both were three putts. Teed off with little warm up, and opened 8-5-7 on a par 4 - par 3 - par 4 respectively which really hurt my score and confidence but I know to give myself longer in future and really warm up. My chipping was excellent with my PW today, that's a really plus from today. I've also eradicated the massive hook I had the last weekend I played. A big score but it's a step towards my aim of bogey golf by next summer.
  11. A: No, but I did bounce one right over someone at the green in front before when I hit the purest 3i I've ever hit on a looooooooong par 5. Q: When you play golf, do you really set out to beat the person you're playing or to beat your handicap?
  12. You'll find RAM hard to beat at the price if you just want something to learn with. Borrow my brother's recently and he never got it back. Where abouts in England do you play?
  13. Tiger is way past his peak, in terms of what he can do to others.
  14. Faldo won the British Open, making 18 pars in the final round.
  15. If you're really a handicap 36, you shouldn't be using ProV1s. Get yourself a cheap, more distance ball for now.
  16. Just got myself a Groove sharpener. Going to bring the zip back to my Ping Eye2+s.
  17. I doubt it. The trailer was terrible and I've read reviews that leave me entirely unimpressed.
  18. Dense dialogue? Tarantino? His stuff is nothing more than on the surface, except for his myriad references to old films 99% of his audience won't have seen. His dialogue is woeful, his story telling weak and his use of violence and profanity as plot devices nothing less than childish. I love all types of films from stupid comedies to Hollywood horrors to those maybe seen as little but more of a thinker, and Tarantino's films do nothing for me.
  19. McIlroy will be a better player than Woods at his peak, but won't last as long at the top.
  20. Far, far, far too many. I'd say an average round is between 32 and 45, depending on how used I am to the greens.
  21. I'll be avoiding this like the plague. Hate Tarantino films, no idea how he ever made it.
  22. R.E.M. - Daysleeper On a bit of a REM drive recently.
  23. My brother got the Di9s recently, to replace his ancient John Letters blades. He's a solid 28 handicap like myself and to say they improved him is a massive understatement. He's at least two clubs longer and a lot straighter. He just needs to learn not to try and crush every shot!
  24. Yep, this month's Today's Golfer magazine says it's Di7s but the AG website says Ci7. D'oh!
  25. Ah, my mistake.
