  2. Thanks for your input. I will most likely give this a try. Just hate to spend the money for something you use once a year.
  3. Does anyone know of a FREE program that can set up pairings for a golf trip that will pair everyone with everyone else at least once in 5 rounds. Looking at 10-12 golfers. I've seen a few programs but they all seem a little high in price for something I'd use once a year for our annual golf trip. Thanks in advance for any answers.
  4. Another reason for the length changes is to keep your distance gaps consistent. If you hit your 7 Iron 160 yards, the 6 should go 172-175, the 5 184-190. If you kept the 5 iron shorter your distance gap would drop to only 5-7 yards. No real point in having that club in the bag then. The longer club also have little more swing speed. Try hitting a wedge with a swing speed of a 5 iron. You'll end up with a lot of chunked and bladed shots.
  5. Not quite sure what age has to do with pulling a cart. There are enough people under 45 who have bad backs, perhaps a shoulder injury that precludes trying to put a bag on your back. I belong to a private golf club where better than 80% of the members pull a cart. To consider pulling a cart as tacky is a very elitist attitude. Do you look in disdain at the golfer that drives into your club in a rusty 95 Toyata as not worthy of being in your group because you've spent more n your clubs than they I'd in their car? I currently play OEM clubs but I used to play what you consider a clone I got into building my own clubs and ordered heads , shafts and grips. I learned about swing weights, shaft tweaking etc. my current job takes a lot of hours and I no longer have the time to do all my tweaking. I have found that evenoemproducts come in off spec in regard to lofts, lies and lengths as well. I do use iron covers. It protects my $1000 investment in irons, as well as the shaft of my driver getting dinged up by the irons bouncing into it. Back to the clones when I played in a legue there were a l ot of guys that had the newest and greatest irons, drivers etc that couldn't break 50 for nine holes. I regularly shot par with my clones.guess how many guys had me build them clubs like mine, properly fit, these guys dropped their handicaps and shot better scores than they do with their ill fitting clubs from the oems. Judging someone by looking in their bag is not only poor form but foolish as well. Never judge until get to know someone. Remember what you say about someone reveals more about you than the person you're talking about.
  6. Alright, I got my magnifying glass out, but I still can't see Kirk and Spock
  7. Why are you throwing those balls away? Isn't there a local high school golf team you could donate them to, or a first tee, youth program etc. if not, get ahold of your local VFW. They'll get them to our boys overseas!

  9. Got out with my boys this morning. 38* at 9:15. Played 9 and had my best 9 of the year, 2 over. Parred the first 4 holes ( 2 sand saves,). Put a new putter in the bag, Cleveland classics #3 and only had 11 putts for the round. Looks like this will stay for a while. We'll keep playing up here until the snow flies.
  10. I agree. I just got my Cobra S3 pros and wouldn't want to go back to GI clubs at all. Flushed shots felt great, even at 40* weather here in northern Ohio. Slight mishits weren't punished much. You really do concentrate more with a smaller head than with the larger faces on the GI Clubs.
  11. The pw and gw soles are not much different from the 9 iron. You could have the lie angle checked to see if they need to be adjusted. Check your divots and see if they are deeper to one side. This cold indicate a problem with the lie. Deeper on toe side would indicate they need tone bent a little more upright, deeper on heel side would need to be a little flatter. Blades do have narrower soles but a wider sole is supposed to help prevent fat shots.
  12. I agree. Sounds as if the clubs were originally bent up and needed a big adjustment to get them flatter. If you're hitting your chipping clubs good on full swings but catching the toe on chips, you may need to adjust either the ball position or your stance.
  13. 2nd swing has new burner 2.0 at 309 shipped. Check it out on eBay
  14. Entered. Thank you.
  15. So, what good are the labels if everyone does as you do and leave the club on the ground. Not sure the squirrels use UPS. I pick it up and drop it at the clubhouse if someone hasn't come looking for it.
  16. Sorry, should have used the quote feature. Earlier response had mentioned how a "definite single digit" was struggling when having to play the ball down. My response was if he bumps the ball it is not a legitimate handicap.
  17. If he's rolling his ball, then his handicap isn't legitimate.
  18. Not sure if you're stillooking for advice, but here is my 2 cents. I had the IMAX tour neutral and bought 5 shafts, all stiff in the 65-75 gram range. They were the fubuki, diamana blue, ust Avix black, pro launch axis and the fujikura e-360. Got on a launch monitor indoors ( it was winter in Ohio) found the diamana fuji and fubuki fit my swing the best. Had the longest drives with the diamana the least spin with the fubuki and the most consistency with the fuji.the Avix was ok and the grafalloy was just horrible.nded up keeping the fuji for tighter courses and the diamana for more wide open courses. Sold the rest on eBay. You might want to try the same thing. A lot of these shafts are really i cheap on eBay
  19. It's very easy tore grip yourself. You'll need a hook blade in a utility knife to remove your current grips. Once the grip is removed, remove all the old tape. Clean the shaft with either grip solvent or acetone to remove all the old adhesive residue. If you purchase your grips from a store you will also want to purchase grip solvent, grip tape, and a shaft holder that you place in a vice. If you purchase your grips from an on line retailer they sell grip kits that include everything you need. Rather than trying to explain step by step the process you cangoogle any number of utube videos that show you how to regrip.while the initial investment in grip solvent, tape etc may be more than you would pay to have someon do the regrip for you, it will be cheaper the next time you regrip. I would say that you should regrip at least once a year if you play on average once a week. It's also nice to be able to try one new grip on a club before you buy a whole set just to see if you like it. I used to buy mid size grips but have found that I actually like the oversize grips better.
  20. Last time I played I got a golf now coupon for 15 , 18 holes and cart. Even at that price the greens were spotty, bumpy. Too many forced carries, just not well designed.
  21. Eagle Creek in Norwalk, hawks Nest in Creston, and deer ridge in Bellville are all vey nice courses as well. You can keep Blue Heron. I've never met anyone that has played it that wants to play it a second time.
  22. I too wear dark polarized for very bright days or links style courses with few trees. Cloudier days I use my transitions. Both those sets are distance only, can' t play with my progressives. Browns, grays and rose are easier to read greens with.
  23. Dritac oversize, not the wrap or lite version
  24. Picked up a set of callaway diablo edge irons at a great price, new. Am an18 handicap. Didn't like the thinness of the stock grip so I re-gripped with the dri tac oversize ( I wear a cadet medium large glove). The clubs just felt so much better and my 4 rounds since the regrip have all been In The lower 80's. We've had hot humid weather here and I've had no issues with slippage. I've regripped all my clubs and just did a full set for a friend who really liked the feel as well. Will repost in another month with any updates.
  25. Uninstall your caddiesync software, clean your cookies and delete your temporary internetfiles. Restart your computer. Close all open running programs including your antivirus software and then reinstall your caddiesync software. Download a good registry cleaner like cleaner and run that once a week or so as well. I have an sg5 that gets a glitch once in a while as well, but running cleaner first seems to take care of the problems.
