    Hats suck

Me too. That and my glasses. Without them I cannot play...
  2. 1. Depends about the lie of the shot on the rough. But 9/10 times, a 5 iron from the fairway 2. Depends on how often would you play. I'd say the top rated course if I could play every day of the week 3. hole out 4. 1st option 5. Any of those 6. Professional golf for a year or 2 7. in a foursome 8. walk 9. Neither. I'd rather play in the cold
  3. It is funny to see that, most of the people who voted on "Bad for the game" are the highest handicapers. At least that is what I saw after reading almost every reply...
  4. if it is toot strong, try to check how many knuckles can you see. It should be 2-2.5
  5. Well, I don't buy used balls. I do, however, go to the golf course when it is not busy and go into the woods and try to find some. Last week I found 4 Pro V1's and 1 Nike One Platinum out of 20 balls. 10 were top flites though
  6. It is not that I don't like your culture. See, you guys think you can sometimes own the world. If you wanted to win so much the ryder cup, why didn't you simply support your team? Instead, you supported your team and you cheered everytime an european missed a shot. That is not golf. That will never be the spirit, neither of the Ryder Cup nor of the sport. That will turn golf from a game of gentleman to a game of little kids. True gentleman should be treated with respect, and when they aren't they have all the right to complain has Garcia has done. He probably hasn't expressed himself in the best way, but everyone makes errors right? PS: I'm not saying that our galleries are the most well behaved in the world. But at least we are restricted to cheer for our own team. Has much has we want the other side to lose, we limit ourself's to pulling for our favourite's.
  7. Come on, don't be silly... Every time an European missed a green or a putt, you guy's (you, has in american) would go histerical. Is that home field advantage too? The answer is yes... if the sport is football, soccer, basketball... Golf is a game of gentleman, and I just think that Garcia has every right to be upset by that. Specially by the anthem part. That is shamefull. You don't have to know the other country's anthem, but you sure have to respect them. I bet that you'd not like if the ryder cup was played in europe and your anthem was not played. Has I said above, unless you are affiliated to one golf club, you do not have the home turf advantage, even if you are playing agaist foreigners in a great match like the Ryder Cup. That was not the spirit the Ryder Cup was meant to be played in, just like what happened during the 1999 match. It is disrespectfull and shamefull for the U.S. side and for every american who participated and did what I described above. Plus everyone hates Sergio because he has been destroying the US side in past maches.
  8. your right leg mist be straigtening in the backswing
  9. A punch. The less time the ball is in the air, the less the chance it has to go off line. That's when I'm hitting very poorly. When playing well, It is probably a nice 2-3 meters draw. These usually end 5 meters away from the flag
  10. Boo, Tiger, Paula Creamer and Paddy
  11. I need to get a tripod...
  12. Be sure to allways drop the ball, or throw them around. Play from where they lie. Try to get up and down from every spot. One thing I like to do when practicing is listen to some music. Various tipes of music, metal, rock, classic, pop. You see, music can change your mood, and on the course, your mood changes a lot from shot to shot or hole to hole. This helps you to stay focused at the task at hand.
  13. Wow, that is a really good advice stevie. I'll have to try that. I actually took a film of my swing, and analised it on the V1 Home 2.0 softwear that I have (hey, it's a free download) and I noticed that my yhead whnt forward when I started my downswing. This is really frustrating for me because, especially in the beggining of every calendar year, I always tend to shanck just about every ball that I hit. Last year, I was eve shancking little chip shots, go figure!!
  14. I've done some research on google and I can't seem to understand what the hell they are saying. So, could you tell me what happens on a golf swing for anyone hit a shank?
  15. Any day I can play, I'm there. Sometimes I ask my parents to go put me on the course when it is raining...
  16. If I was an american, living in the US, and someone did that to me, they'd lose 3 balls... Anyway, if you got me a house in one golf course, I'd take it every day. Just the prospect of being able to play golf 24/7, before going to school/ work... that would be a dream come true. I wouldn't really care about the temperature/time/broken windows/mowers etc... I'd just have to adjust.
  17. The only thing I'd change is the takeaway. I'd turn it into a one-piece takeaway, rather than that move you do, because it can make the club get stuck behind you, and then you'll lose a lot of consitency and control over the golf ball. But, since you are a +1.5 handiccaper, why should you listen to me anyway? lol. I think you've done a very good job...
  18. To me, I OPEN the club face at adress, put 80% of my weight on my front leg and place the ball, in the back foot. Then make sort of a punch swing. You should take a slightly bigger and deeper divot. you have to work on it though. I practice this with wilson staff driving range balls, and I can get a big spin (the ball hits the ground and stops). Of course when I go and hit this shot with a tour ball, it hits the ground and comes back about 50 feet (if the green is sloped). Funny thing about this shot... I was playing a mini tourney, with some friends of mine and I had a 50 meter shot. I hit this shot, to a front pin position, with a lake on the right of the green. The green actually slopes hard towards that lake, and has my ball landed on the green, about 20 feet past the cup on the left hand side of the green I said, "Oh sh!t... that's in the lake". The ball comes and rolls back, making an horseshoe and the diving deep into the lake. That was a bitter sweet moment, because one minute it almost went in the hole and then it dives in the lake
  19. Take a film of your swing, but, by your description, you are casting the club from the top. Try to make a shorter backswing. You should also check the way your weight shifts from one foot to the other...
  20. For me, it depends on the season... For instance, when it is winter, I struggle with my putting, because I get too tense due to the cold in my hands. When it is too warm, I get all sticky, because I sweat a lot, and I start reverse pivoting, so I struggle with every long shot. I usualy have bad chippind/ pitching days/ weeks during fall or spring. On the other hand, during winter I'm hitting the ball the best of the year, during spring/ auttum, my putting starts to come around, and at the summer, I really practice a lot of chipping and the rest of the short game so that is what saves me... Mainly, my biggest problem is probably chipping from anywhere between 30 feet and 50 feet from the hole. I just can ssem to get the ball roling where I want it to be... My best point is however, putting. Even though I tend to strugle a lot with it, it saves me very often...
  21. St. Andrew's. Never played there before, but it is the home of golf. That say's it all...
  22. Callaway Forged, Titleis ZB/ ZM/ AP2, TM, R7 tp...
  23. Lucky you, for having such a great practice green. If I want to do that, I have to go out to the golf course... Shame on those guys that run the course where I play...
  24. I'm curious, how do you practice your short game? What kind of exercises do you use to practice it?
  25. Why don't you get any othe kind of box, ike those small shoe boxes? Those work for me...
