  1. i was thinking about getting one as well! gonna try it a few more times before i buy
  2. I noticed if I tilt this much. I hit all my shots fat. what could I be doing wrong? is my stance too wide? I this stance is a major factor here. how wide is your stance?
  3. where did you get yours? i know there are some fake ones floating around ebay.
  4. shipping to canada is never free. unless you buy within canada so sometimes with the added shipping, custom duty, and brokerage fee (extra from carrier shipping) it's pretty much the same as buying from retail
  5. go to youtube, and search for steve bishop's bunker video i learned how to hit bunker shots immidiately after watching the video
  6. i think that really depends on what kind of sand is usually at your course. with soft sand, bounce is your friend with wet/hard sand, you need less bounce however, you still can open up the club face to increase the bounce or vice versa. also on titleist website, they suggest diggers to get higher bounce and sweeper to get lower bounce. the courses i play usually have wet/hard sand so i chose lower bounce
  7. my 54 and 58 vokeys i can do anything with them.
  8. i think about my hands going back and forward and relax
  9. i like the color of NV proto and Graffaloy Blue does this count?
  10. very insteresting theory! doesn't work with a lob wedge tho a lob wedge is a 12 iron so you get 0. no roll.
  11. if you can do a little search, you'll find lots
  12. when i started out, i couldn't get any clubs to pass 100 yards. don't think about how far you "should" be hitting any clubs. this is going to mess you up. i would just take the PW, focus on the fundamentals, and learn to hit straight shots.
  13. for the ball to carry 200 yards, i'd hit my 3 wood for 200 yard par 3 and no harzard in between, i'd hit a 7i and wedge.
  14. nice thread. i can tell you sometimes i do get sucked into obessing about equipments this is a good wake up call for some people buying new stuff is a lot easier than spending time practicing and taking lessons.
  15. For me, there are 3 things to practice. 1. Stroke/Alignment: Make sure I align my feet/shoulder properly. Make sure my putter face is square at impact. I have those 8 ft putting mat as well. I would place a ball anywhere on the mat and see I can make the putt. Since there is no break at all, if I miss, it must be my stroke/alignment not because of mis-reading the putt. I also have a putting mirror placed on the mat. So I can check my shoulder alignment and see if my eyes are directly above the ball. 2. Short putts Go to a practice green at your local range. Place 4 or 5 balls 3 ft. away from hole and equally spaced. Go thru each ball. If I miss a putt, I start over until I make them all. 3. Lag Putts Also at a practice green, drop a ball anywhere and pick a random hole. See if I can lag it close. I would go thru all the routine. Putt until hole out. Then pick another hole.
  16. He usually shoots out random advices which are totally irralevent to the topics. To OP: always check your setup and posture. standing too far away or too close to the ball will cause shanks. also in my case, when my lower body moves too ahead of upper body. slow down a bit then back to regular speed when you are confortable without shanking.
  17. same problem here. my 4i only goes 165 yards. there are so many 150 to 200 par 3s at the exec. course i play. makes it so tough. so i'm supposed to hit my 4i as accurate as some other guys hitting their 7i. tell me golf is not a game of distance. back to your quesiton. if you are very confident with your short game, why not lay it up and get up and down? you can still make par this way.
  18. http://www.thesandtrap.com/forum/sho...ighlight=dream same thread
  19. i agree. there are too many polls i don't even bother reading them
  20. thanks everyone. rep points for all of you.
  21. avg 34 putts per round since 2008 1. Green size (small, medium, large) small to medium (executive course) 2. Putter you use see sig. 3. Number of three putts per round 3 to 4
  22. None taken. Honestly, I couldn't notice any difference when I struck my irons. But the most noticeable difference between these balls would be pitch shots. There's enough difference between how far they roll after landing. (strata shorter than d2 feel shorter than top flight rocks) But again it could be my swing. I had been using balls I found or from friend's shag bags. I never thought about buying balls until recently. I just want to find cheap balls that works well. If they help with my game, why not? But if there no big difference, I'm not gonna waste money.
  23. Oh! I always thought there was something wrong with my mechanics or I was over swinging so I couldn't get 50% distance from 1/2 swing. Thanks Bignose! Now I only need to find a deserted green.
  24. so you would aim left? do you have a youtube video on this topic?
  25. just bought a box and played with it. it's not very impressive. i like their strata better. just realized strata is discontinued. what's replacing strata? gamer?
