i'm *about* the same handicap as you. today a shot an 89.
a week ago, i shot a 104. its because we aren't consistant. we can make a good swing, and than swing like crap on the next shot. or be striping it one week and over-exaggerate the feeling you had last time you play and play like crap. it happens
i think it gives people a reason for playing poorly.
"i was playing badly with my callaway driver, so i went out and got a Taylor Made burner. i shot the same score, but i hit my drives so much better!"
i have a $50 Calvin Klein white belt and a Fossil brown one.
my black belt is one of those cheap interchanging buckle ones. i put a buckle on it with the canadian flag (where i was raised) that says "Frickin' Cold" on it (as untrue as that may be...)
i did it in a best ball tourny. i was playing 4th and the other 3 guys hit their drives straight and deep, way out of my range. i teed up, said "i'm going to try and kill this, please watch it, i don't know where it will go"
poof
i had the same issue. had a nike, sucked with it, and went to the 70's Ping Pal and putted well with it. now back to the nike (for a while)
so play a round with the ping. if you like it, use it. but don't sell the scotty. you never know when the ping will go bad
this day in age there seem to be awesome names for awful shots. foozle, flub, chili-dip, and many more
but when somebody hits a good shot, you get "nice shot, good ball, good hit"
anybody have interesting/different things to say when somebody hits a good shot?
*i got this idea from a book*
thats why i watch the LPGa more than the PGA, because they hit it distances similar to me (well, the ones near the bottom/middle)
but they're still better than i am
but, on topic, i think its great that Wie made the cut and is playing well
but she's an awful interviewee-"People, um, say that, um, the decisions that were made were like, um, bad. But I'm, um, making my own decisions, so I'm, like, choosing what to, um, do with my life now.
I golfed yesterday and thought i would share with everybody the awesome experience i had
this is my second year golfing (i'm 15) and i'm not a great player. i've improved greatly this year (index from 28.5 to an 18.7) but my swing was crappy. i was swaying and all armsy. my short game is awful.
yesterday i was out playing by myself, and sucking. i shot a 51 on the front, and was hitting the ball all over the place. there was a single behind me, and older gentleman named Ed. He's a good player(1.2 index) and I told him he could play through, i wasn't playing well.
He declined, and decided to play the remaining nine with me. He took the time to give me swing tips (that helped a lot, i actually started spinning my wedges). On the 11th i had some "fun" in the bunkers, and on the next hole (which i parred, thanks to his tweaking my swing) he let the group behind us play through, and proceeded to give me a short lesson in the bunkers, helping my regular bunker shot and showing me how to play a buried ball.
all of this led to me shooting a 41 on the back, one of my lowest nines to date. i thanked him profusely on the way back to the cart and told the pro al about it. i went to the range today and was hitting the ball great.
most of the times people on the course get mad at juniors if they struggle a bit. i know i have the ability to shoot in the 80's, but golfers don't care. they see me hit a heavy wedge and get mad and play through grumbling.
this guy took the time and truly helped me enjoy the game more.
kudos, ed.
i was just going to say this.
who cares if the security is closed? you aren't supposed to play when its closed.
and then coming on here and bragging about "free" golf?
you complained about losing the rep point? i didn't do it, but you deserve it. and then complaining and saying "i bet you wish you were cool with the people who work there"
lame lame lame lame lame
even though i'm tired of her entourage, i wish her the best
i had never known that the exemptions for the LPGA was different than the PGA. i like the LPGA's system better
why is everybody picking rocco?
i like him a lot, his attitude is great, but there are more deserving players who would (maybe) have a better Cup.
but its speculation if he gets picked, i hope he does well. i just see zinger giving younger guys who have played better Ryder Cup experience
complainers ;)
just kidding, i really don't like when people misspell or use text message language online
actually, i hate text message language in general. i text a heck of a lot and always use proper grammar
but my mom is an english major, what do you expect?
yesterday i hit my ball into a bunker on a par 3. a very scared deer came running out of said bunker. but he/she stuck around to watch me take my shot.
i wish those damn deer would rake their hoof prints though ;)
