  7. we play Thursday evenings, the one thing that pisses me off is they pick up the flags at 8 and the sun has not set still bright and there are several groups on the course.
  8. it would not matter to me I would hit those ****ing trees 70 or so yards out (get the chain saw)..........3h then 9i or pitching wedge.........3 putt ppppffftttt
  9. playing from the white tee, driver gets me 210 hopefully, close to H, then a full pitching wedge 80ish yrds land it pin high 2 putt for par. (yea right)
  10. golf courses that do not have trees the sport would be boring I hate trees because I am constantly battling them, fairway what's a fairway when you have trees. I have to laugh sometimes I could have one small over hanging limb with leaves on it and 80% of the time I will hit the damn thing.
  11. meh.... played San Antonio Quarry GC March 16th cold front blew in that night 40+winds when we started. on a par 4 hole 7 has an elevated green, probably the highest part of the course, on the green putting into the wind if you did not make it to the hole the wind blew the ball right back at you, also you had to lean into the wind, what a time.
  12. if I go out as a single I will play a goat pasture (G.C.) usually they are open and cheap not the best of fairways but playable, they tend to challenge you on ball placement (yes I am a hack) but it does help me. I stay away from the munis unless it is twilight, btw this weekend is day light savings. going to start playing during the week after work (sorry to rub dirt in wound for you northern folks)
  13. whats the green fee's, we are spending the night and playing one more place sunday
  14. Colo Vista GC is another one in bastrop, going to play it in 2 weeks
  15. canyon springs northside on 1604. republic, military drive. quarry GC. olympia hills. and many more most are priced reasonable, la cantara around $125 most others $30- $70
  16. GD I would not complain compared to the drought you all have endured, btw tee time 8:07 Saturday partly sunny 77 deg. just sayin
  17. going out on a office outing this afternoon 67 degrees sunny..........
  18. playing RiverHills C.C. in Corpus Christi tx tomorrow lots of elevation changes, greens are hard to read as long you know where the river is (breaks to the water) and damn you look at it and you would swear it breaks the other way hopefully break 100 and not any windows temps low 70's
  19. opening the truck door and a tee or two will fall out or a golf ball that was stashed in the door pocket or handle Boss asks "well how many tee times do you have this week" Wife asks the same question! Kids mention "Dad you still playing golf you suck" LMFAO have a bucket of balls in the front yard and back yard with a pitching wedge. also same at the ranch house. hunting season comes around, you have both guns and clubs just in case it gets boring.
  20. corpus christi tx around $27 twlight $40 weekdays and weekends w cart, new port dunes $100 plus, a couple of goat pasture within 30+- miles $20 ish with cart. playing in san antonio next couple of week ends any where from $40 to $70, la cantara or semi privites $100 on up
  21. yea ever since they was bought out the green fees went up. they used to have twilight at $40 ish now it's $65 or so.
  22. yea ever since they was bought out the green fees went up. they used to have twilight at $40 ish now it's $65 or so.
  23. very nice links course, need to stay in the fairways deep fescu grass on the sides very narrow fairway around 150 yrds but opens up at 200 plus, try the coooold mango towls. some investors that are out of san antonio (i think red mcombs) was one, looks like they are going to pump a bunch of money into this course wear your sun screen it's going to be hot and sunny and possably windy when you are here
  24. it was the growth hormone (igf-1) that was on the banned substance list not the spray as i read another article
  25. last sunday playing a good round come to a par 3 with water to the left, really not an issue, well wtf shanked it left in the drink, okay recover from that and bogy the hole no problem. next hole par 5 still (sething from the par 3 debacle) knock a good drive middle of the fairway second approch shot 60 yrds from the green YES looking for a birdie tweet tweet, nice little chip i will be on the green, well all hell broke loose caught the club on the ground which opens the face and blow one on the adjacent tee box right no closer but pisses me off (btw no one was on the tee box) now convinced a bogey is in store well the tolet over flows i duff 2 chip shots 20 yrds and finally i am on the green in 5 and 3 f*^$%#$ putt for 9 damn had to shake that chit out of my skull for 2 holes, after that it was smooth sailing.
