  1. Sad to read people accusing Tiger of faking injuries. He played a great tournament and was in contention for a playoff. He just didn't make it. For anyone that has not had a back spasm or cramps etc it is hard to comprehend how it feels. Pain is pain, and it clogs up your nervous system and affects everything from your train of thought to your walk to your golf swing. I hope Tiger gets to feeling better and healing up because it is no fun to see him plagued by injuries. It's robbing me of some good TV golf.
  2. It's an old country song and the premise is that an old man is chasing after a big catfish. He grows his beard out swearing that he won't cut it until he catches the cat. One day he catches the cat, lets it go, and cuts his beard off with scissors. We are trying to remember the name of the song at work because one of our older gentlemen has been chasing after "Moby Red" a redfish that has evaded him for months. I have tried google endlessly with no leads.
  3. Lovely!! Had a great laugh.
  4. My best clubs in no particular order: Driver, putter, 9i, SW, 4 wood, love the 7i too. And the LW. Who could forget the 3H. 8i and PW very good too. Golf is a game of confidence, right?
  5. This is a question that will never yield a commonly accepted answer easily. To ask someone to name the greatest golfer of all time is to ask the person to judge the golfer on various aspects of their game. One person might believe that major wins are the ultimate factor. Another might look at the money list, or lifetime earnings. While another may look at GIR's and lifetime stats. Another may judge the golfer on his finishes (see the posts herein praising T2 and T10). Nothing wrong with any of those measures for judging a golfer's merit. But it is important to remember that they are different. The question is not dissimilar to "What's the best car?" Well in order to answer that we need to be more specific. Are we talking looks? Gas mileage? Speed? Reliability? Resale value? Bang for your buck? A better question would be a more specific question. For example, "Who dominated their era in the most convincing manner possible?" to which the answer is Tiger Woods. Or Bobby Jones? Oh gosh here we go again...
  6. I think the conclusion we can draw is that mvmac has sick visor game (in addition to a beautiful, repeatable swing).
  7. To the OP good looking swing. I hope this thread can facilitate the discussion you're looking for but I'm afraid it just isn't there. I started playing golf seriously in around March of this year. I was probably a 24+HCP shooting in the low 100's. The Sand Trap and also Mike and Erik's 5SK (FREE INFORMATION and free analysis of a swing) has helped me pursue the game and drop down to a 11, and I'm trending down to a 10.1 this month. That is a big downward trend in strokes over 5 months, don't you think. Could I have done that with your DVD set or swing kit or whatever you're selling? Maybe. Would it have been as enjoyable? Probably not. As an outside salesman, I can tell you that the product is an extension of the salesman. If you want to know more about the product, just look at the folks that are selling it. If you walked into my office as a vendor and brought your attitude with you, badmouthing my current vendor, I would laugh you out the door. It is unprofessional. There is nothing wrong with sharing. Tell me the differences, tell me why your product has worked. Show me. Pictures, diagrams, etc. It's the least you can do when you're selling a product to me. A YouTube video with bits of mysterious text looks more like a 9/11 conspiracy video than a legitimate take on the golf swing. But in all seriousness do not badmouth your competitors. I am telling you that from one businessperson to another. You won't last long. And that is meant to come off as sincere as possible. Erik and Mike are passionate about sharing their findings and have forged a path to a better golf game. They help each person individually. They are incredibly generous in their time and efforts to help the community become better golfers. Come to think of it I need to make a donation to the site in the near future. Cheers!
  8. Looks like they've been nice enough to cut out shipping charges for the order to make up for my lack of precise timing. They've earned themselves a customer for a very long time. Cheers global golf!
  9. Yes you should play AP2's from 5 down to PW. Keep the AP1 3i and 4i. I'll buy the heads off of your 5i-PW 710 AP1's.
  10. And the $22 I spent on next day air is a waste. Looks like the order was placed 15 minutes after the cutoff for same day delivery. Cutoff is 11:00am central to ship same day. He won't budge. So I don't get them on Friday for my weekend rounds, I get them Monday. Talked to customer service and it turned out that they can't work with me. Interesting. Bookmark bar has been modified accordingly.
  11. I'm a deal hunter but I'm also a guy who loves his shoes. Currently my white/tan FJ's (my only white pair of golf shoes) are 4 years old. I will still wear them as I keep them looking new, but there's something about the adidas that felt awesome.
  12. I am not a professional golfer but my fiancee loves the taste of copenhagen on my lips.
  13. Yes works on my laptop from office
  14. Scoring sponsored by CDW? Are writeable CD's making a comeback? Burn me a mix disc, baby. Edit: Ooops different company. Anywho.
  15. Just alerting everyone our sponsor Global Golf is having some awesome closeouts. Just got a pair of the Adizero tours on closeout for $109. And a pair of climalite shorts for half price ($25) because I bought a climalite shirt that is on sale ($35). I have been eyeing these shoes since they were $189 and finally found my price point. Life is good!
  16. A pitch shot is the safer shot. If you have room to land and roll a bit, then pitch away. A flop shot in this case would be mostly uncalled for. A flop shot is the more difficult shot for some players. However it is necessary if you are needing to clear sand and the pin is tucked close. In this case the you may clear the hazard with a pitch shot but run the risk of scooting well past the hole. The flop gets up high to clear hazard and lands soft and has little roll.
  17. Drunkest state goes to Louisiana all day. We had hockey tournaments there when I was younger and would regularly see parents getting trashed in the stands and kids sipping 40's on the street corners and porches . Also my cousin went to school there and would have a fifth of whiskey empty by 10:00am on game days. This was common practice. If you've been to an LSU tailgate you know. There's a reason those cajuns talk funny. It's to cover up their drunken slurring.
  18. Hah!! If we got points for fist pumps we'd have taken it by 15 points.
  19. Before my first and only lesson I took to the butt out, straight back, athletic stance, stick in your butt posture. It was bad. The first thing my instructor did was say "you're athletic, but you don't have to stand rigidly to prove it." He had me hunch over just a tad bit, have my butt in a bit more, and let my arms dangle a bit more. It is a more relaxed posture and helped my game tremendously. To OP I would recommend not trying to set up like you're saluting your superiors. Your back doesn't need to be tense and rigid and you don't have to model your butt.
  20. Newtogolf that looks awesome pal. Congrats.
  21. Hah[quote name="David in FL" url="/t/18107/20-handicappers-hitting-300-yards-mild-rant/840#post_885486"] My wife tells me that I struggle with this too....... Best line of the thread. "So THAT'S what nine inches looks like!" Sorry honey....
  22. People that are obsessed with driving tend to suck at golf in my experience. Put the ball in play, 250-300 whatever you want, and then the real golf starts.
  23. Yall can go to hell, I'm going to Texas.
  24. Putting Out of Your Mind is a good read. Nothing revolutionary that I didn't know before. He just sums up confidence, sticking to your line, etc with anecdotes from his students. It would be good for someone who thinks they're not a good putter. But for me, I have never three putted and have never missed a putt from inside 5'.
