  2. Thanks for the feedback. I always knew I went way past parallel on my backswing. The distance in doing so is nice but yeah it is inconsistant. Also thanks for the over the top comment I had a feeling I was doing it just didn't notice how much until I watched my swing on video.
  3. I've been Playing Golf for: 5+ Years My current handicap index or average score is: - My typical ball flight is: High slight left to right fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Any feedback is good feedback Videos:
  4. Its funny because Issac just amazes me. His swing isnt the most complete swing and yet he pulls off great shots time after time. I was rooting for Issac to beat anthony in the challenge just because of Issacs attitude but Anthony should of really given himself more of a shot than what he took himself for. Finals for me look like Issac vs Mark aswell. Mark looks like the most complete guy out there.
  5. I wouldn't call mine superstitions but habbits I guess. I do use broken tees only on par 3s. Also if lets say a ball were to hit the road and get a brown scuff I gotta get a new ball. If lets say I hit a wedge shot and the ball dug deep into the groves and took off some of the outer covering I get a new ball. I look for any indents or the slightest mishaps on a ball and get a new one because I'm afraid it will mess with my putting. I also can NOT golf with sweaters on so I always either take it off before I hit or roll up my sleaves. ( its the long sleaves that bother me obviously.)
  6. Well to be honest Im the longest hitter on my course and I average at least 290-300+. Only few people on my course take as long of a swing as I do and take the club back as far as me either. Im a righty and I can see the club out of my left eye when I take it back and not many guys can. So I say alot of it is just swing mechanics, flexablilty and just making good contact.
  7. Pretty simple. Despite Tigers lackluster front nines and those unbearable tee shots for the first 2 days he didn't play all that bad. Colsaerts was just a machine that one day and NOTHING AT ALL Tiger could of done. Poulter and Rose were just so dynamic for the Euros making so many clutch putts. Absolutely great job by Poulter and Rose and even the rest of the Euros. But for sure the hurt and downfall of the U.S. was Stricker and Furyk. I'm not trying to look like Im pointing fingers here but shit happens and they played very very poorly along with a very strong Euro team. Exciting Ryder Cup none the less.
  8. In the second video your swing looks alot better but try to keep a tempo. Try to work out that little pause you have in the top and you will be good to go. Keep a tempo and nice and smooth.
  9. That's odd because I did the SAME exact thing but when I offered to show them the receipt on my phone they accepted that and I was able to play. Different course different rules I guess. But I really don't see the problem when the receipt is right on your phone. Im sorry you had to go through that kinda makes sick when you golf that course next time if you ever do you know what I mean.
  10. Played a par 5 today where you can not play driver off the first whole because of a ditch going across and even a 300 yard drive which I hit doesn't clear it all time so I laid up with a 3 iron but went left into some trees. I had no shot to even get it acrossed the ditch from there so I took my three iron and punched in back in the fairway on the front side of the ditch I then had 230 left to the green which I used my 3 iron once more and made the green and dropped the putt for birdie. Had all the makings for a bad hole if you were to judge by my first tee shot.
  11. Shot a 40 today on the front nine with 4 bogeys and a double with one birdie YIKES! So I knew I had to kick it up on the back and I shot a 35 even par with Par on every hole on the back for a total of 75. I had a scare after the front 9 seeing as I haven't shot 80 in the longest time and don't plan on doing that crap again.
  12. No par 6's but I have played 650 yard par 5's before
  13. Tell me about it I live in Winamac, Indiana (eastern time) and every town around me is basically central time lol. It sucks but Ill be out golfing in the cold weather regardless.
  14. I got a guy that kind of resembles two of your guys responses. He calls a ruling on EVERY SHOT! Doesn't matter if it is sitting cleanly in the fairway he finds something about it and complains. Also when he is putting you cannot be anywhere in sight or this guys freaks out. He always says " I can still see you" your shadow is too long. Half the time I just tell him to hit the ball because I can't stand anywhere where my shadow is going to go away. I can't stand playing with people who wish the were pros so they gotta act like the know what the hell they are doing all the time. I shoot better than him anyway so its always nice to here him complain at the end when I have to play with him.
  15. Speaking of destroying greens at my home course I was driving up to play and the par 3 near the road I noticed a bunch of dirt on the green. So I stop my car and walk up there and someone the night before had driven there car off the road and had done a 360 on the putting green. I didn't know what to think you could see the tire marks from the road all the way to the green. This was maybe 3 years ago and just until last year did the scarring actually start to go away. People don't understand how much money and time it takes to get greens into the type of condition they need to be in.
  16. Played 9 holes today just got home about 10 minutes ago. Started off the day with a bogey on hole 1 which is a par 3 and hole 2 a short easy par 4. Followed by that I birdied 3,4,5. Got par on 6 and bogied 7. I then shot par on holes 8 and 9 for a total round of 35 even par. Not too bad today I hit nearly all fairways. Even on hole 2 I hit the fairway but was on a severe downhill lie and didn't hit my shot hard enough and landed right in the ditch in front of the hole. Took my drop and next shot was within 2 feet of the hole and a putt in for bogey.
  17. Haha yea the par 3 with putter was just beyond dumb and as far as the getting drunk also I probably should of haha made me less irritated.
  18. Tried I'm 22 with a wife and kid and he is 48 with a drinking problem
  19. You sound like a nike guy to me sell me your adams
  20. I do agree with what rusty is saying here aswell. If you feel like you need the 2 degrees to your club then change it because practicing golf when you arent comfortable with your clubs only leads to bad habits
  21. Congrats man!
  22. I played a scramble yesterday with myself, my dad, and 2 of his friends and my god it just was so bad I need to vent my frustration here. Number one I will say my dad and I are not on good standards after this week well in my book anyway and we will leave it at that. But my dad and his 2 friends are not good golfers at all but invited me to play with them to "help" them win. So I pay my 50 dollars to enter and 20 dollars for our team skins I PAID FOR THE SKINS keep that in mind. As we are at the counter paying they hand me a sheet of rules and they said we had to play ALL par threes with our putter the entire whole. That pissed me off first seeing as it seemed like this was just a bunch of idiots who don't know the kind of damage you can do to a putter doing this. But our start off hole was a par 3. We all used my dads putter and still ended up getting a par. As I am teeing of on the next hole I look over and see the team playing that par 3 with normal clubs. Now I understand not using the putter because you afraid of breaking it by WHY the heck didn't anyone say a damn thing when they announced the rules on it but me? I stood up and asked if it could be changed and the person who ran the thing said no it needed to be that way. So I just said whatever but I wasn't going to use my putter just my dads shit one. On to the rest of the scramble. We basically took my shot everytime and they didn't give two shits about the game seeing as I just paid 70 dollars to play a bad course with these guys to try and win. I wasn't even golfing great which was getting me more frustrated and the fact they were on the verge of getting drunk and didn't care to win was making me even more upset. But to top it off we were on a par 5 I hit my drive roughly 300 down the middle left us a 150 yard shot to the green (really short par 5) so my dad goes up first for the 150 yard shot and makes it for a double eagle we were all excited and I knew we got the skins with that hole. So we get back to the clubhouse after the round and sadly we were 8 under after 18 holes and keep in mind -3 of that came on one hole. That was good enough for second place which I was happy with seeing as we played bad. But they announce skins and of course everyone bitched because they didnt believe the 2 on a par 5 which I knew would happen but that wasn't the problem. The skins totalled 320 dollars so it would of been 80 dollars a person. I get up to go the bathroom and when I get out my dad gave the 320 dollars back to the course. I PAID FOR THE SKINS OF THE TEAM IN THE FIRST PLACE! He was drunk and just did it because he didn't even know what he was doing and it just made me mad that I paid the 20 dollars to get into the skins but they give my share away?!? To sum it up I paid 70 dollars total to play on a bad course with terrible rules/organization, bad teammates, to win my 70 dollars back only for it to be given away without my concent. Just an all around bad day. Sorry for the long read guys but I just had to vent.
  23. I guess I have a couple "cool" stories. I was playing a 550 yard par 5 at my home course and hit my drive straight down the middle about 320 with a little wind behind me which left me 230 to the hole. I decided to go for it which I normally do so I chose a 4 iron due to the wind and made my second shot on a par 5 for a doulbe eagle or albatross whatever you know it by. An actual funny story is the second par 3 on my home course hole number 6 just to the right of its green is the number 7 teebox (pretty dangerous spot) well I hit my tee shot off of number 6 tee box and was heading to the right of the green towards 7 tee box. Wouldn't you know it I landed right in the trash can on the fly at 7 teebox. One last one I can remember off the top of my head is I had a 50 yard approach shot to the green of a par 4 and I hit the ball and it hit the very top of the flagstick coming straight down. I hit my shots very high and the angle it hit the flag stick at was nearly perfect and still only left me with a 2 foot putt.
  24. I'll give you some simple advice seeing as your local pro couldn't help you as much as you liked. BUT Without even looking at your swing I know for a fact you are not doing it right just based on what you provided. Perfect practice will yield good results but lots of practice the wrong way can alot of times make the problem worse. Before you try and dive into alot of things on your own maybe video tape your swing if you can and post it here and ALSO there are professional websites where you can post it aswell and they will give you feedback on what you need to do. Seeing as the golf pro where you are didn't help you with that try this option and/or look for another golf pro. Get your swing adjusted properly first then everything else falls into play.
  25. Im from Indiana aswell about 40 minutes from Kokomo in a small town called Winamac, IN.
