  1. you can use nail polish.
  2. have FFFUUUUUUNNNNN! and for you today: Bogey = par
  3. I don't even like positive comments about my swing. If someone starts talking about how good my tempo is or something like that I start thinking about it.
  4. Jees guys. He had one bad day (any maybe mails it in a bit) and all of a sudden he's the worst guy ever and unwatchable and... I mean come on. Didn't Bobby Jones pick up once? Its noy like big john fell off the wagon again, he just had a terrible day.
  5. thats what I was thinking of: Draw: Fade: Article: http://www.golf.com/golf/instruction...663464,00.html
  6. Ya that's true: I've shot 80 3-4 times, most recently: Saxon Woods 80 Par 72 6300 Yards (Blue) Rating 70.2 Slope 122 Probably my best round taking the course rating into account: Bonnie Briar 81 Par 71 6300 Yards (Blue) Rating 71.1 Slope 131
  7. Just hit your... 4 iron.... Honestly, if you are asking us how to play these courses, but refuse to hit anything but driver, you aren't actually asking us how to play these courses. You're asking how to hit driver straight, which isn't something we can tell you.
  8. Well if its a tossup go with the e7+ and we can both give a small review on each ball in the line.
  9. Funny, my go-to is peanut M&Ms...; to the OP, maybe you need to find times to give yourself a mental break. I know I struggled really badly when I started reffing Ice hockey, not because my legs were tired from skating for 3 hours straight, but because my mind was so focused all the time, I never got a break. I would end up zoning out and missing calls. Talking with experienced refs, and learning myself, you figure out times to let your mind rest a little bit. Its the same with a round of golf. You have to rest your mind sometimes.
  10. In my experience, the e5+ cover is reasonably durable. If you hit the cart path you're probably going to want to replace the ball, but other than that I haven't had to take one out of play. I mostly want to try the other e#+ balls because I want to see if there is a noticable difference in ball flight, and spin on the greens. The In side by side testing for me, the e5+ is noticably less spinny than the ProV1s.
  11. Give em a try! Can't hurt. I've been using the e5+, which I have really enjoyed using, but I'm about to try the e6+, hoping to straighten out my shots a bit. We'll see how the different cover works out as well. So far I've really enjoyed playing Bridgestone balls. Also, pick up random balls at the course while you play, and give em a try. Its probably the best way to try out different balls without killing the wallet. I should know, I used to live right through the woods form the local CC, and I had trash bags full of golf balls at one point.
  12. You do realize that hockey players hit the puck fat with every shot... doesn't exactly translate well to golf.
  13. I went to the Saturday US Open Round at Winged foot, and it was freeking awesome. I followed Ernie for a few holes, Saw Duval skull a bunker shot 50 yards over the green, saw Phil hit driver (24 hours before he shouldn't have), watched Cabrera try to drive a par 4 green, and just had an all around great time seeing all the guys I've spent so many hours watching on TV (except Tiger... he missed the cut). I really wanted to go to Bethpage this year but the weather just made it way too much of a risk for me. If you can swing it I would definitely say you should go.

    no glove?

I never used to wear gloves, but when I went to school in georgia, I had to start because it was so warm. But I do remember the odd reactions some would give... Once in a while on a cool fall day i'll still leave out the glove though.
  15. I'm always trying to improve
  16. 8 iron, or 4 iron... i can't decide.
  17. I'm probably trying to smoke a 5i if i have to get it there.
  18. I pretty much only use Lob wedge from the rough on 3/4 or less swings. I don't flop it though I just use the extra loft to get the ball up and out of the grass.
  19. I'm sorry, there is absolutely no way I can believe you.
  20. IMHO, this guys did not effectively communicate with you the first time. If you are in the rough, you are not "On the tee box". He should have said "Keep the carts off the grass around the tee boxes." or something to that effect. Also, I don't think this is such a huge faux-pas on your part, unless the cart path has a curb, in which case you were obviously very wrong.
  21. I have had people double back (100+ yards) and pick up my ball from the fairway. Not saying this is the case with this buy, but it is possible to have someone from the group in front of you pickup your ball without hitting into them.
  22. I think there is a theory that the amount of sleep you get 2 nights before your activity is what has the greatest effect on how sharp you will feel. So if I sleep for 10 hours on Friday night, and only 4 on Saturday night, I shouldn't be affected too negatively on my Sunday morning round, according to this theory. The flip-side of this is that if you don't sleep much on Friday night, and then sleep for a long long time on Saturday night, you will actually feel more groggy on Sunday than in the first scenario, even though you "got more sleep". I had a good friend in college who said that their coaching staff advised them to use that system to prepare for matches if they had to stay up and study beforehand. I tend to believe it has some merit as well As for my answer, yes I play significantly worse if I've been sleep deprived in the days preceding my round.
  23. Driver 3-pw 56* 60* putter = 12 clubs, and I never hit my 3i, so it may as well be 11 The 2 clubs I think would help me the most are a 52* gap wedge and a hybrid for off the tee.
  24. generally about a foot to two feet too short...
  25. Yes, when I swing my driver I have an entirely different swing, at least in my mind's eye. If i come from the inside with my driver the way i do with my irons, i hit blocks and snap hooks. So i've figured out that I need to feel like i'm coming more over the top. In reality i'm sure i'm still swinging from the inside and down the line, just not from the inside as much as with my irons. But the swing feels so different...
