I've gotten used to watching the Euro Tour in the AM, but the coverage should cover the earlier rounds also... I enjoy watching folders who aren't in the hunt. And not just one good or bad shot here and there. They should have a sister channel... Imagine full coverage (except major network times) like camping out at an exciting par 3 and watching everyone go through?

The Dan Plan - 10,000 Hours to Become a Pro Golfer (Dan McLaughlin)

Just found this thread... Gotta catch up on this guy. He's my official Sprout Hero of the week! -
I'd hang onto your current clubs until you hit the milestone single digit. Then get fitted for new clubs. That's what I'm doing... We're in a similar boat!

What are your loft degrees in the wedges you carry?
indyvai replied to awsmith0454's topic in Golf Talk
46-52-58-64 I need to figure out if I need new gaps myself since I recently started swapping out the 64 for a 3 wood! -
You're either a FW guy or a hybrid guy, so the clear options are 3 woods and 1 hybrid, or a 2/2 split. I'd drop the 5 wood and pickup a 4h to match the 3h. Having the pair you'll use them more, and get better with them... Making the 5w obsolete. If you're like my dad... And need the 5w... You could probably drop the 3h and pick up a 4h and 5h pair! JK! I make fun of his 7w!

Cannot find the need for a 14th club
indyvai replied to tuffluck's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
That must be a nice problem to have. I wish I could carry 15. I now swap out my 64 wedge for a 3 wood... And depending on the course... A 2h... -
That's awesome! Great for Tony since he needs to one up you guys from time to time for consistently shooting way under him...

Strong bump... www.girlygolfer.com She rocks, and can make anything...

There is definitely a benefit to high moi mallets for forgiveness... However it doesn't trump preference. As a beginner, putting with what you are most comfortable with is paramount.

Strong bump! Bocceri just introduced weighted butt grips for all clubs to counterbalance. With the pending long putter ban everyone trying to repurpose their long putters are shortening and counterbalancing like the HP weighting... So the market is going to be flooded by "heavy putters" by almost every maker.

52* gap wedge... I lick my chops under 100 yards...

Got a question . . . a strategy I've been pondering . . .
indyvai replied to twisted5ltr's topic in Golf Talk
Anything you can do to improve your game... Do it. If it means focusing on certain strengths before incorporating others... So be it. I haven't done it yet, but I often plan on hitting the local par 3 with only wedges and a putter. -
I prefer solo or familiar partners, but enjoy meeting new people. I just don't like riding with strangers... I don't need forced chit chat during a round. If I'm solo I walk!

There is no humor in Golf! I thought it was great! Could've been a bit shorter and more informational... But people watching the golf channel for example, know of the product, and the branding is there already. Food for thought... Get Ben Crane to make a training video. I'd buy one just to see what he'd do with it in 60 seconds... Or just parody that!

Just came across thread... realize it's old but active. Without fully catching up... Maybe suggest he reads a book about the mental side of the game? If he realizes it's common to lose ones cool, he might consider it challenging to improve that aspect?

Sorry to be blunt... but that's your opinion being stated as a fact without anything to support it. And guess what... there is none...
-
Besides the fact that a guy on the last big break was using it... it's still instantaneous contact so no reason to question otherwise.

Great thread! I was absolutely shocked by the poll results given as of now... 1/5 look at the putter! I thought it was going to be myself and the OP! I have given this issue a lot of thought over the past few years... mainly because I just don't know whether I started putting this way, or developed the putter spy technique when I started seriously working on my game. That info is officially lost... so only speculation remains. I putter spy because it improves my contact and provides feedback both during practice and during a round. If you're used to it, there are no ill affects. It's hard to imagine for those that don't do it... just like it's hard for me to look at the ball. Mechanically my putting is good, so my area of improvement is green reading... not starting from scratch just so I can "conform" and look at the ball. I've briefly attempted to change and it's just not worth the time and effort when the benefit to the results will not be noticeable. If it ain't broke...

Congrats! Not much in golf as exciting as an ace!

Great thread! I personally love teeing it forward, but don't often get the opportunity since I usually play from the whites. I'll mix it up and move back...

My wife had the surgery a few years ago and wants me to get it done. Definitely the best long term solution...

Small world... wearing lenses for 25 years and recently diagnosed with that slight astigmatism in left eye. Special lens moved... went back to regular lens. Ignorance is bliss... it's a hair blurry but I'm right eye dominant...

I have to start paying more attention to his YouTube stuff... tremendous!

Technically I bought it... but I had it made from an original design. So I can say I made it?

Anyone who plays a course regularly knows where those blind spots are that leave you open to getting hit into from behind. It happens, and for the most part a wave or gesture of sorry always covers it. Part of playing in a group is to watch out for the other golfers, so if someone is put of site... another golfer should be in site, indicating to the group behind that it's not safe to play. The walking off the green scenario is the most common "hurry up" and is usually followed by a WTF gesture. When it happens twice... action is required because at that point you are allowing it. The one time I hit a ball back was this scenario and it was followed by a wave and loud "sorry!"
