In regards to Demeanor on and off the course. I would say Tiger is a total A$$. He screams obscenities often and acts like a baby on the course often exaggerating injuries to excuse poor play. I am not referring to his US Open win either that was not exaggerated. But I cannot deny that Tiger is one of the best if not the best golfer to ever play the game and that I am so envious of his late 90s early 2000s swing. He seems to be quite professional to the media but has his troubles off the course as we have seen with hookers and ruining his marriage. Phil may be a happy go lucky kind of guy and people don't like optimistic attitudes in golf. Is it wrong for Phil to smile walking up 18 knowing he is going to win the tournament but OK for Tiger to yell F$%^ or G*&D;(&* after every poor shot?

That is true I guess since I don't see a marshall out there often, I forget that its his job and he has to do his job to his best ability.

I have a question regarding a scenario I ran into a few sundays ago when I was playing a round at my club. Me and a friend grabbed a cart and headed out to the course, keep in mind for some reason the course does not feel the need to require tee times, and jumped on the first tee. We quickly caught up to the group in front of us (a threesome of some of our friends). We stayed back for a few holes and flagged down a ranger to ask about the hold up and see if there was anything he could do. His response was its just sunday you have to deal with slow play. We got a kick out of that and decided to join up with our friends and create a 5some. The was no group behind us and we decided as long as we kept up with the group in front of us and pace of play we would be fine. We played the rest of the front 9 like that and on 10 the ranger came by again and totally freaked out. He told us no 5somes on sundays and we showed him we were 10 minutes ahead of pace and had kept up the group in front of us and ahead of any groups behind us. He insisted so we did as he liked and split up and waited the rest of the round. Are the rules so rigid that there is no room for adjustment or discretion for rangers? I don't understand the problem if we were ahead of pace and not causing any issues. We were still waiting even in a 5some.

David forged metal doesn't need a spit shine after every shot IMO but yeah i play a private club and a semi private club and both i can get rounds in less than 3 hours quite easily. I just tend to shy away from playing saturdays because they are really busy, i use that as a range day.i will clean them after every round though.

work on grip and posture to start. check out hogans book the 5 lessons

The face on video looks like you might be struggling with a one piece take away. One drill my pro showed me was to put a ball down then one about an inch behind it and what i take away focus on pushing that ball straight back. It has helped me tremendously when i tend to get "handsy" with my take away.
-
Yeah i attribute that to flier lies that cause the ball the go farther than i think. what kind of lie did you have?

I clean when they are dirty. But every shot is a bit much. Probably slows down the pace of play a little bit which is my biggest peeve on the golf course. If I cant play 18 in 3 hours or less I see that as a problem. Play better when I play fast anyways.

I went to the Sunday round of the Players and witnessed the meltdown and Tigers surge. I will be attending the weekend at the Tour Championship. I havent been in a few years so it should be a good time.

No need for a cover or anything mine stay in place and lay the bag sideways in the truck and drive like a maniac
-
Same thing happened to my friend. Ive had my own share of meltdowns before but never broken any clubs or thrown them in the water or anything like that. I dont want to ruin my equipment but I will let the Fbomb and any other cuss word fly.

Thats the worst.

Share Your Personal Course Pictures
tpj070 replied to KingG's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Don't get to mad there are alot of self righteous people on this forum that will make you feel uncomfortable. Cool pics though that par 5 looks pretty daunting. Threading a needle is an understatement.
Cool story. Yeah you are right I don't get it when my bag is on the fringe, I play alone every morning, and I fix 3 or 4 ball marks on every green that other golfers are not fixing. Sorry I don't give a flip that one stand leg is putting less weight in the green than most people waking or leaning on their putters over it. You will get over it though, it will be ok.
-
depending on the situation. Course, privacy etc. Usually find a tree or woodsy area but sometimes ive just gone to the backside of the cart in the middle of the fairway and let it go. depends on if beer is involved or not.

You yankees are the reason this country sucks. Waiving your rights to stand up for every individual. Its sad that you feel so weak that you wouldnt fight another man. down here in the south your right to wave your fists doesnt end at another persons nose if you win that fight. We don't smoking rights to kindly and most of us don't smoke. Its just another way you have let the government encroach on your personal space. Second hand smoke should be the least of your worries in life. You are much more likely to die from prostate cancer than lung cancer from second hand smoke on a golf course, bar or restaurant.

Some you people on here are such self righteous *******s i think if i ran across you confronting me in the ways you discuss, it would sure end in a fight. And i dont even smoke or chew. I understand the people that do have a right to do so. And anyone thats for regulating or taking away my rights is going to get a 5 finger introduction. One guy on here complained about a concert being to smoky. Get over it thats what almost all live music events are like unless you attend a children's concert. You don't like smoking on the golf course, well maybe i don't like you on the golf course. Sound like a bunch of whinny liberals.

I agree on the fat shot. the 20-40 yard pitch shot that ends up 10-5 yards short of the green makes me mad. mostly because i know why i did it and how to not do it, but some how it still happens. leaving a ball in the sand can be really frustrating too.

Waterlefe is great, i played it 2 weeks ago with a golf now discount for 39.00 That course was a lot of fun. I cant wait to get back down to sarasota and play it again.

Thanks ill work on that with my hips. I think my downswing might be a bit steep too and this could be caused by that hips problem

I've been Playing Golf for: 14 years My current handicap index or average score is: high 80s My typical ball flight is: fade or cut The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: slice/coming over the top Videos: Sorry I didn't realize i was filming so close till i got home and uploaded the videos. Hope to hear some great feedback on my swing. Went out after i hit balls and played 9 and just gave in and played my "fade" or slice. ended up shooting a 43 but i know i can break 80 if I can get some more stuff in my swing worked out.

Yeah i think he learned how to be so introverted from his Dad. Definitely not the best trait he picked up from him.

agreed totally. golf is unlike any other sport. you can almost touch these guys and the interaction between them and the fans is an essential part of the sport. going to a tournament isn't like a baseball game where you can be hundred of yards away.
