  1. Welcome aboard
  2. Age: 42 Height: 5-'7" Where are your from: Originally from Rhode Island, been living in Texas since 2007 How long have you been playing: 20 years off & on (mostly off, played nearly every weekend in the early-mid '90's, then took a 10+ year break, just restarted last year). Best score: 85 Favorite club in the bag: Whatever I'm hitting well that particular day Golf books/DVDs that have helped you: None really.....I did have a Tom Kite computer CD-Rom back in the early 90's that helped a little. Took some lessons at Edwin Watts about 2 years ago that also helped a little. Where do you play: Willow Springs in Haslet, TX. Iron Horse in North Richland Hills, TX. Used to play at Pine Valley, Hidden Hollow & Meadowbrook in Rehoboth, MA all the time when I lived up that way. Best courses you've played so far: Tour 18, Dallas was very cool.....but I like pretty much everywhere I play. Things you enjoy most about golf: Spending time outdoors with my son/golfing buddies. Goals this year: Shoot in the 80's/90's consistently and never go over 100 again
  3. Happens to me a lot as well. I'm trying very hard to control it though. Welcome to the site! I used to live in RI and played in Rehoboth & Swansea Mass all the time!
  4. LOL at all the replies... Shooter McGavin, hahaha yeah he's a jerk, I hope Jaws really beat his ass.....haha
  5. Golf is way cheaper than my other hobby...... Music! I have thousands tied up in Guitars, Amps, Drums, etc.
  6. Good to know....thanks for the heads up!
  7. I mainly play at Willow Springs in Haslet, but also play occassionally at Iron Horse in N. Richland Hills, TWU in Denton and Tour 18 in Flower Mound. Have not tried Fossil Creek yet, but plan on doing so very soon.
  8. Welcome aboard

  10. I just picked up 2 dozen on sale from Sports Authority for $4.99 per dozen. Haven't had a chance to play them yet though.
  11. I still have my original set from 20 years ago, LOL. I keep them at my brothers house in RI and use them whenever I visit. I believe the Irons are "dynatour" or something like that. I know they are knockoffs of something. I did upgrade the driver and 3W to Callaway Big Bertha's. I just splurged on myself and bought all new Irons, driver and putter as noted in my sig. below.....had 42 hours of overtime from work, so I said "why not?" LOL
  12. If you are in the US, go to your local Golfsmith / Golf Galaxy / Dicks Sporting Goods / etc. and try out a bunch of different ones
  13. I will probably get flamed for this, but since I'm just starting to get into/pay attention to tournaments and what not, figured I would ask here...... I know there are 4 or 5 Major's per year. I believe they are the US Open, The Masters, British Open and ?? (don't know the others) What exactly makes it a Major tournament? Are they only played by golfers that have already won other tournaments? Are they invitation only? Do any of these have "cuts" ? Thanks
  14. I was in the same situation about a month ago....ended up with an Odyssey White Hot. It just felt the best out of all I tried and so far I'm pretty happy with it.
  15. Nice! Sounds like something I would do....but there would be many expletives uttered in the process
  16. Never been, but will be planning a week long trip out there, hopefully this Fall or next Spring
  17. Welcome aboard
  18. Welcome aboard
  19. I have plenty of bad days and get really pissed off to the point that I tell myself I'm putting my clubs for sale on Craigslist as soon as I get home.... The worst is when I play really poorly on a string of 4 or 5 holes in a row and tell myself "I'm actually paying money to get this frustrated", it really hits hard and I want to throw the clubs in the lake sometimes....but I try and shake it off the best I can and just try to finish the round. Usually by the time I drive home, I've calmed down enough and just wash my clubs and hope to do better the next time out. Golf is a really weird sport....it beats you up mentally, yet you always come back for more.
  20. Congrats & Good job....I'm happy if I even hit the green on a par three, let alone a hole in one, practice or not
  21. What are these "Birdies" you guys are talking about? :) :(
