  1. I wouldn't use nike clubs if someone gave them to me. I will not give my hard earned money to the company that kept as their icon, that adulterous slimebag Tiger Woods.
  2. So you would understand "coug" as a verb as in; "They were leading by double digits in the 4th quarter but couged it." I can say it because I'm an alum...WSU class of '87. Go Cougs!
  3. I am absolutely a devout Christian. Does this mean I am a better person than a non-Christian? Absolutely NOT! It only means that I have accepted the free gift of salvation that was offered to me by Jesus Christ. Forgivenness and grace are wonderful things. FREEDOM!
  4. Can't believe the dickhead won.
  5. He didn't challenge the guy to a fight only a contest of golf skills. The jerk obviously thought his golf skills were superior until he was called upon to put up or shut up. As far as your question, "What's not jerkish about a challenge?" The last time I checked golf was a sport and sports are all about challenge. The only "visible insecurity" I see is the jerk's unwillingness to accept the challenge.
  6. You have got to be kidding. This was not a jerkish response. The only jerk here was the guy trying to give advice. GIVING UNSOLICITED SWING TIPS IS EXTREMELY RUDE!. There is no excuse for it!
  7. Just my personal preference but I hate Poulter's clothing. I'd put Payne Stewart in this category instead. Also, the perfect golfer would spend a lot of time interacting with and signing autographs for fan (especially kids) like Phil Mickelson. I'd also nominate Fred Couples in the swing category. That beautiful fluid swing makes it look easy.
  8. I hate the way he's always telling us what the pros should have done. If he really was as good as he wants us to think, Tiger would be chasing his records instead of Jack's. I will give him credit though...at least he still refers to "fairway woods" and not "fairway metals" as some of the LPGA announcers do.
  9. Find a local golf shop that you trust. (Talk to your golfer friends for recommendations.) For me it happens to be the Edwin Watts Store in Knoxville, TN. I can go in there, discuss the state of my game honestly along with what I'm trying to accomplish. They will recommend various products that would meet my needs and let me hit them. Using the simulator to measure clubhead speeds, ball speeds, launch angle, etc. we're able to narrow things down and make my decision. Some sales people are not as knowledgeable or are only interested in selling whatever they have too much stock of or whatever offeres the best commission so it is important to find someone you can trust. BTW, if you look at clubs on ebay don't even bother with anything sold as "new". Most manufacturers do not allow their legitimate dealers to sell on ebay. You are most likely going to get counterfeit clubs. Others here will say different but I have had excellent luck with 3balls.com.
  10. A. Not my house but I've sold several for other people (as a realtor). Shouldn't be a nightmare if you have a competent realtor. Q. Do you know what the "John 3:16" signs at sporting events refers to?

    Liability

Contact your homeowners insurance agent. They will generally cover what you are responsible for and defend you against what you are not responsible for. You are probably not responsible but you will have to defend yourself if they sue. Not only will your insurance company pay but they have relationships with quality lawyers that they will hire to represent you. On a related subject, it is an excellent idea to carry an umbrella liability insurance policy. You can get a million dollars coverage for a very reasonable premium.
  12. Q: What's the last thing you hear before a redneck dies? A: Hold my beer and watch this!
  13. I believe that most of the problem for high handicappers around the greens is mental. (Not committing to the shot, etc.) Once you've figured out the proper mechanics practice, practice, practice... Once you get out on the course and are in position to use what you've learned, think process...not results. (Swing, tempo, contact, etc) You don't care where the ball ends up, only the stroke you but on the ball. This will also encourage you not to turn your head too soon which causes premature shoulder turn and thin shots.
  14. Find a GOOD teaching pro. Interview them first to make sure that the way they teach matches the way you learn. Then take some lessons and practice what they teach you.
  15. DO they make steel toed golf shoes in case my foot gets run over by the cart girl?
  16. I use one off the tee and full swing shots. Take it off for everything else.
  17. A. About $2000 Q. Have you been on a golf trip with buddies this year and if so, where?
  18. On our annual guys trip one of my buddies kept leaving his putts right on the lip of the cup, just short. Another of the guys in the group explained that that was called a "South American"...one more revolution and it'd be good. I used to have a boss whose best club was his "foot wedge".
  19. It's really tough to narrow down to one when I've only seen most of them on TV but I would love to play Pebble Beach, Chambers Bay, Bayhill, or Augusta. Had the chance to walk Torrey Pines during a practice round for the US Open and it looked like it would be a blast to play. However, if I HAD to choose one it would be Augusta.
  20. Go see a teaching pro. I have one that I worked with last year. My season started late this year and I had a slice problem. In 30 minutes she fixed the posture problem that was causing it and I'm hitting better than ever.
  21. Break up now. If it was meant to be, you'll get back together after college. Every girl I dated in college had a boyfriend back home. Long distance relationships just don't work.
  22. Exactly right! As far as how to fix it...go see a good teaching pro. One who really knows how to TEACH not just how to golf. If you look to internet message boards for swing tips you MAY find a patch that works for a while but good instruction will teach you the "hows" and "whys" which will lead to a better understanding of the golf swing and ultimately the ability to diagnose and fix your own swing when it get off track.
  23. Global Warming.
  24. I hope that someday you get to experience losing all your worldly posessions like I did 10 years ago. It makes you realize that it's just stuff. Let the guy use your driver. Worst case, he busts it beyond repair and you've lost a golf club. So what? It's just a golf club. Life goes on.
  25. If I woke up tomorrow in your shoes here is what I would do: 1. Get rid of the car payment ASAP. If you can't pay it off in the next couple of months, sell it and pay cash for a cheaper one. 2. Do not get a credit card. 3. Tithe 10% to God. 4. Save at least 10%. 5. Do not buy a house until you have 20% down plus 3-6 months expenses in an emergency fund. This is not how I did things when I was your age but it is how I wish I had. People talk about borrowing money but in actuality, you do not borrow money. You rent it. You can choose now whether you want to spend your life being the guy who rents money from others or the guy who rents out his money at a profit.
