  1. Please disregard this post, I came across the article on Tips for Attending a PGA Tour Event. But if you have any suggestions on autographs, who is willing and who will not please reply.
  2. I have two tickets for the US Open. Tuesday, practice round, and Saturday. This is the first PGA event that I've attended and wanted to know if anyone has best practices when watching live. Specifically when to sit at holes, who to follow, how to follow people. What are bad places to watch from, what time to get there. If there is a really good spot everyone rushes for. Basically any knowledge to make my time spent more efficiently. Second, I'm attending the practice round because I heard you can see all the shots they attempt, and get better views. As well I'm trying to grab a signature, hopefully Tiger or Phil. What is the best way to do this, I'm thinking of paying a kid like $20 to get a signature. There is just something odd about a 25 year old asking for a signature.
  3. Geoff Ogilvy is a good example of this. He hardly takes a divot on this short irons/wedge and no divot on mid-long irons. One announcer made the comment of him being a course superintendent’s best friend.
  4. I read something to this effect in Tiger Woods - How I Play Golf. He teaches w/ the 3/4 iron to sweep the ball and make sure on the backswing that you take it inside your target line. That really helped me because I was getting too steep on my long irons. But basically anything 5I and below I'm concentraiting on a decending blow.
  5. Yes you are right, I think they had it on PGA Tour 05. But I don't have xbox anymore, xbox 360. Plus Microsoft has not made PGA Tour 05 backwards compatible to 360. The carry is like 300+, If I reach the elbow I'm breathing again. Probably the most intimidating first whole in golf.
  6. Looks like the new Tiger Woods PGA Tour is going to have Bethpage Black. I've been waiting for them to add this course back to the game for a while. Seeing as though Bethpage is my local track I'm pretty pumped. Anyone else hear any other news regarding the new release? -on a side note: Has anyone got on the black recently? Are the conditions Open like yet?
  7. I just bought the 09 Titleist Premium Stand bag after having a Nike Ultra Lite. Could not be happier with the switch, the new Titleist bags are great.
  8. Went with the Titleist Premium Stand Bag and Couldn't be happier.
  9. say goodbye to golf as you once knew it.
  10. typical brit.
  11. You stand very close to the ball, the but of your club on the 6iron shot is very tucked, seemed crowded. Would you consider your swing to be a 2 plane?
  12. Best Shot of My Life: After a bad drive and second shot I had about 130 yds left on a par 4. I was sitting on the right side of the fairway, off in the right rough, inbetween about 3 or 4 trees. I didn't have a direct shot at the green because of the trees, I hit a low cut shot (1/2 swing 7iron), under and around the trees, the ball came out low, cut towards the whole and landed two feet right of the pin, checked immediatly and started to spin right due to the cut spin i put on it. Rolled to a tap in, best par of my life.
  13. Luckly this winter I stocked up on 11 boxes of 2008 Pro v1 and Pro v1x for the 09 season.
  14. I live in Manhattan and play mainly NYC-Long Island and northern NJ Courses. Slow play is the norm and it drives me crazy. Seriously making me consider a move down south or somewhere less populated. On average I will play a 6 hour round, and 6 hour is a good short round. Mostly 6.5 hours. It's impossible to play well like that. It's one of my biggest pet peeves; I would rather pay $100 to play in 3.5 hours than pay $50 for 6 hours. As well it does come down to three things, 1) courses over booking, which is routine in NYC and surrounding areas, 2) Caliber of players, i.e. level of game play and respect for picking up 3) the rangers.
  15. 545 Par 5, straight out with elevated fairway and green. Roped a drive down the middle, hit a 5 iron2nd shot, right and short of the green. Hit a wedge from a nice clean lie on the right rough. The ball landed about 6 yards over the pin and backed up for a tap in birdie.
  16. I bought a set of MP-32s used about a year ago that had some ball marks and wear on them. I just recently bought a new set because I liked them soo much, but I sold my old set back, don't know if that counts.
  17. Check to makes sure you are following through on the shot. I had this problem and it was basically deceleration.
  18. I happen to not like Paul Goydos, I'm not really sure why. I think it's because he seems like such a stickler.
  19. I look at my bag and can't find any flaws.
  20. Being from NYC, my highest weighted average on a course is pace of play. Around here it can get out of hand, 6.5-7 hour rounds. I'd rather play a sub par 4 hour round over a plush 6 hour.
