Just got the SP-8 TW Tour in black as well, paid $100 shipped from Golballs.com

Ever asked for a refund/credit?
1UnderU replied to Fat Slice's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Ha-that is nothing, I play at courses in NYC, 6 hour round a minimum on the weekends. I've played for 6.5 hours with 3 holes to go, and they could care less. -
I can't believe the posts saying they don't like Phil Mickelson's swing. Personally I think he has one of the most fluid swings on tour. Worst would have to be Kenny Perry. It almost looks like he has some type of double move at the top of his backswing.

In response to the Golf Digest Editors letter I'll take an example of the Callaway X-20 Tour from 2008. Here is the review from the Hot List 2008 “Callaway used feedback from its tour staff when deciding on the heel design (which helps reduce turf drag in the rough). A longer hosel helps move the center of gravity inward for better trajectory control. This version has a shorter blade-length than the x-20. Its’ minimal offset, narrow, beveled sole and chamfered top line appeal to better players. “This is an operating tool that you can use to surgically tear aprt the course…If I had to play a three-club tournament, this 6-iron would be one of them….A super blub for the low-handicapper who doesn’t want to spend a lot of time practicing. This sleeker version of the x-20 offers plenty of forgiveness and there versions of Royal Precision’s Project X Flighted shafts (5.5, 6.0 and 6.5) standard. You know when people tell you trust your swing? It’s easier to do when you’re swinging these. It’s a little too bulky to be a true player’s iron. Hot List 2009 X-22 Tour Blurb. Although it says X-22 Tour on the badge, this iron is less like its predecessor, the X-20 Tour, and more like the X-Tour, one of our favorites from the 2006 Hot List. It's a change we favor, along with the sole design that features a beveled trailing edge that narrows the sole. The X-20 Tour was a player's club for wannabes. This one is the real deal. **I do note they said in the 2008 X-20 Tour review that is was bulky. But none the less the reviews completely contradict each other. I bought the X-20 Tour last season, and I did test them in the field, but after a while it became clear it was not a tour iron, hard to work the ball, dull feel on pure shots and miss hits. Went back to my MP-32. They basically regurgitate what ever the company descriptions are on each club.

Am I the only one that thinks the hot list favors anthying Callaway?

European Tour better than the PGA Tour? Ryder Cup?

Pound Ridge (NY) Golf Club - fall rates
1UnderU replied to RemyM's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Good to know, Mansion Ridge also has reduced fall rates. I've played there, Nicklaus design, good course in my opinion. http://www.mansionridgegc.com/ -
My roommate and I were having this conversation the other day after I said I like playing from the back tees because I felt like that is the way the hole is designed to be played. I'm an 11 HDCP and hit pretty long so playability isn't an issue. My ? is do you think that Golf courses are designed, i.e. the angles, bunkers, curves, doglegs, mounds, everything, to be played from the professional tees? He had thought they design courses to play from the middle tees and simply just move the tees back a few yards to make professional ones.

help choosing irons which would you choose?
1UnderU replied to Voiceontapex's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I've owned the x-20 tours and sold them back after a season w/ them. They are good clubs no doubt, but there is nothing "Tour" about them. Club heads too big, too much of a dull feeling when hitting the ball. I could stripe them straight but that is all they would do. No that great out of the rough either. I'm not sure if the PW had too much loft but it was very short. I used to get between 140-145 w/ my previous clubs. x-20 tour PW was like 130 max. I did have the Project X shafts 6.0, not sure if that was the reason. Rocco Mediate almost beat Tiger Woods with them, but he swings like my grandfather anway. I traded for Mizuno MP-32, couldn't have been happier with my purchase. Distances were back in line, had the feel I was looking for. -
Does anyone else think that this is pretty much the same game as the previous years? (for the xbox 360 version). The graphics might be slightly better. I really think another company needs to compete with TW, their monopoly on golf games has made them less innovative.

NY's Van Cortland Park Golf Course. I'm going to miss you! (Long rant)
1UnderU replied to golf_junkie27's topic in Golf Talk
IMHO any course within 30 miles of New York City is unbearable to play. They aren't golf courses, there amusement parks. -
I wouldn't worry about killing anyone off of a drive. Kids/people have been hit directly in the gallery by drives from the worlds best. Now if you happen to shank a drive into a group 10-20 yds in front of you, get your self a good lawyer.
-
Something I can't stand is when a group of people wait on the tee box for the group ahead of them to clear, when the group ahead is like 300+ yds out. Then after waiting all that time, all of them either shank, hook or slice thier shots. Same thing happens on approach shots, if you have never hit your 3 wood 250yds off the fairway into a par 5 green you're probably not going to do it today. Just HIT.

That is correct.

bathpage- using a car to get there.

Interesting site I found on pictures from the Black. http://www.caddybytes.com/Bethpage_b...e_pictures.htm -
This isn't really a brain teaser or joke but it was a qualifying question for a CAD position we had open at our company. Find: 5 consecutive even integers where the sum of the first and last number equals the sum of 3 middle numbers.

You can talk to a fade, but a draw won't listen.

How do you put spin on the ball?
1UnderU replied to King Cobra II's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
A 60 degree wedge won't get you as much spin as a 56 and below. Its just harder to hit down on a 60 wedge and typically you want those flop shots to stop on a dime. Try using a 54 or 56, trap it and watch it roll back. -
Student loans and some cc debt. Unfortunately it's hard to pay down debt when you live in NYC, own a car and pay for parking.

The golf equipment industry is a business just like any other. They need to keep coming out with new products in order to get new sales. Whether the ideas are good or bad. In realty the driver you bought 5 years ago is probably as good as what is coming out now. But that isn't going to be profitable for golf equipment companies. Square drivers was the last one, they will eventually fade out.
-
It's hard to explain how to do it. I learned by waiting on tee boxes for the group ahead to hit. I slide the wedge under the ball, usually a 56 or 60, and popped it up. Then you start juggling by slightly raising your shoulder, you don't want to use your wrist to bounce it up because you want to keep the club head level and just raise the face of it. -If that makes any sense.

True, Outback is pretty luxurious, and I thought our country ran on Dunkin'?

Then what is the difference in what the CEOs have made. It's not going to affect our (the consumers) bottom line. If they have no control over the price of oil the entire article is Moot.
